Samsung Tocco Ultra - Dead??

Hi Guys,

My Samsung tocco ultra touchscreen has stopped working completely.  I can still use the keys to type in a phone number, but that's the only thing I can do now, and that's if the phone doesn't start deleteing the numbers as I go.  Most of the time it's just dead, other times it's as if a ghost is playing with the screen, the phone scrolls through things on it's own.  Am I right in thinking is probably dead as a dodo and to go for upgrade??  Or is this fixable??  I am in the last 190 days of my contract so can upgrade early, but I'm not really keen on paying for a new handset yet.  I can wait till Dec for my full upgrade options.

Also, can anyone out there help me with a possible upgrade, I hate touchscreen and don't really want it again, so I'm guessing my only option if I stay with Voda is a Blackberry (or buy a handset outright from a shop).  What is the best Blackberry, can anyone help?  I don't really want to pay much more than my current £25.99 a month.

Thanks!

Re: Samsung Tocco Ultra - Dead??

Hi,

If you wanted you could always go down the repair route for the Tocco. More information available here - Vodafone Repairs

Upgrade cost and price is calculated based on your current contract, what you spend etc. so Vodafone will be able to help you with that one. Personally I use a BlackBerry Torch which comes with both a touch screen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard. I've always found the touch screen best for the internet although I like having the physical keyboard when typing out emails.

Re: Samsung Tocco Ultra - Dead??

Hi woodbond,

Thanks for posting! It's unfortunate to hear you're having hiccups with your Tocco Ultra. As redpages mentioned, the repair route is certainly one option if you're not quite ready to upgrade just yet. If there's a phone in our current range that's caught your eye though, or if you would like some advice on what's available without the normal early upgrade fees, simply reply to the email I'm sending now. We'll be happy to have a peek for you away from the normal sales channels. :smileywink:

Cheers, Ben
