My Samsung Wave has finally sent me mad. I've learnt that I can not upgrade the firmware via Kies as my device does not support software upgrading via Kies.

Adding to this it keeps restarting itself, apparently connecting and reconnecting to a USB when nothing is attached to it.

Any chance someone could give me advice as to what to do?

My contract runs out in about a year so I want this sorted as I don't think I could stand another year with it doing this.

Just so you know, my laptop runs Mac OS X Lion

Have you tried a "Hard" Factory reset?

This will wipe everything from your phone so you will need to backup your Stuff!

open the dialer and type; *2767*3855# The phone will shut down and may take a few minutes to reboot.

A Factory reset can resolve many problems and is always the first course of action.

If the problem persists then you can arrange a firmware update from a Samsung Repair Centre.

Thanks for that, the connection problem has subsided for the time being, pretty hopeful it won't come back Have to wait and see about the restarts. Still won't let me upgrade the firmware. Whats this about a samsung repair centre? Can't I just take it into a vodafone store and ask them to fix it?

You can indeed use a Vodafone repair Service. My personal preference would be a Manufacturer Repair centre.

Just a thought - do you have the latest version of Kies installed?

Mine is 2.2.0.12014-18.

It might be worth re-installing Kies, download a fresh copy.

tried doing it many a times in the past to no avail :/ think its going to have to be a done at a service centre.
