Re: Samsung galaxy note

I am due an upgrade.  I am currently on 600mins unlimited text and 1GB date for £36/month.  Would be interested on what deal I could get for a non handset upgrade.  If they can do that for a tenner a month then I would stay with them.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Hi Chewiet,

Thanks for your post.

I’d love to see if we can get you a great upgrade package.

An email is on its way to you. Just respond to that and we’ll be in touch. We’re a small team and are very popular at the moment, so don’t be concerned if it takes a few days for us to respond.

Let me take this opportunity to show you how Vodafone like to say thank you; take a look at VIP.

Cheers

Ian

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Cant offer me a deal which will match Three I am afraid.  Best vodafone can do is £18/month, they cant go beyond a 50% discount and my original tariff was £36/month.  Three is £10/month so I guess I will be switching.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

You cant get it as an upgrade direct from Vodafone.  I bought it from Amazon sim free.  If you do that, buy it from the german site and save yourself £120

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Hi,

When you buy from Amazon.de do you get the Note German version (with the european plug) or the UK one?

Many thanks

Henry

Re: Samsung galaxy note

You get a micro usb cable, with a european plug adapter, so I just plugged the cable into my iphone usb plug adapter.  If you dont have one of these they can be bought on ebay for pennies.

You also get a german and english quick start manual, no full manual you have to download that from the web.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

I was due an upgrade from my HTC TP2 back in June but as there weren't any phones available at the time which could match my Dell Streak (direct from Dell; unlocked) I didn't see the point in going for the upgrade yet.

But since Dell aren't going to update the Streak to gingerbread, never mind ICS, when I heard about the Galaxy Note I knew that this was going to be the next phone for me.

However, lo and behold, in their infinite wisdom the powers that be at Vf have elected not to carry the Note, so once again I am faced with the prospect of buying the phone elsewhere. I want the Note, not an iPhone, nor an HTC or any other phone. It has to be the Note.

So before I go elsewhere I thought I'd post here to see if Vf can step up to do a deal, given that my upgrade is 6 months overdue & I'm on a business contract.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Like you I am very disappointed with Vodafone.

I have been with Orange for the last 6 years, but I decided to switch to Vodafone because I was told that they would have definitely taken the Note on board.

That is the reason why I joined VF on a Sim only 30 days rolling contract that thankfully is going to expire next Monday allowing me to upgrade with any other supplier.

Since I don't want to pay £500 for handset, I will unfortunately have two upgrade with Phone4you of Carphonewarehouse.

Can anyone from Vodafone confirm me if with a £51/month on a 18 months contract, (1200 min, unlimited texts, 750 MB data), I would get the 25 MB +10 text messages European roaming daily allowance, included?

Many thanks

Henry

Re: Samsung galaxy note

I can see the various comments regarding the Note and I wanted to simply add my name to the list of people who hope that Vodaphone will add this simply beautiful to their upgrade list. I myself have the comment on my account that I can upgrade from January 17th and whilst this is still 1 month away, I want to know / hope that VF will listen to its customers and give them what they want. If that doesnt happen I am sure that people will move their account elsewhere, which for myself meant leaving to BT open years ago and realised that the phone signal service is really quite good and so dont want to try another provider where possible.

Thanks in advance for taking note Eadvisors :smileytongue:

Re: Samsung galaxy note

It is a huge mistake by Vodafone not to bring the NOTE on the network!!! The phone is either sold out or out of stock at a lot of place, including the online retailers. Apparantly, according to one of the Vodafone sales managers on the phone, the decision not to sell the phone on the network was based on the 'weak' sales of the galaxy tab; naturally, a this point, I would let loose of my feelings of this decision, but I am too busy adoring my new NOTE from Orange!!!!!

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Well, I have just switched from a Galaxy Tab to a Note, both using Vfone, but it was uphill both times.  I got the Tab from Vodafone only after starting the process of moving to another supplier, whereupon they relected and sold me one.  Now, I had to go to Carphone Warehouse to get the Note, even though it was advertised on the Vfone website.

Why CPW and others can stock it while the mighty Vodafone cannot afford to do so is a mystery.  Certainly, it is an unusual device, and some corporate technophobes seem unable to fit it into a nice.neat category, but it beats the iPhone hand down on a number of features.  The display is drop-dead gorgeous, the extra screen area combined with the ultra-high resolution means I do not miss my 7 inch Tab at all and the up-grade path seems excellent.  Android 2.3.6 (fitted) is good but Android 4 seems even better, and Samsung have committed to porting it to the Note.
