Re: Samsung galaxy note

wonder if anybody could help me out here, i too would like the note, but ive just qualified for an early upgrade with VF (6months early). Since im with Vodafone, do any of the 3rd party stores accept that, eg Carphonewarehouse or Phones4u? i mean, do they accept the 6months early upgrade too? if somebody could get back to me asap that would be great,

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Right the Note was launched  on the 3rd Carphone warehouse have now a pre register page

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/news/coming-soon/samsung-galaxy-note

Now they will upgrade you as well now normally when this goes up it take till about then endof the Mounth

I can not see any reason why Vodafone will not do this but they tend to be behind a bit manly waiting to see whats happening and when they will get stock

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Good Morning Marc1903,

I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to upgrade 6 months early with a third party company, we're the only ones who can arrange this.

Although we have an extensive variety of handsets it's just not possible for us to stock every model of handset. I'm afraid it looks like the Samsung Note is one of those handsets we won't be stocking.

If anyone would like to arrange an upgrade to any other handset, please let me know and I'll be in touch.

Best Wishes,

Kay

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Well thats convinced me definately going to three. The only provider that seem to realise that customers would like a decent amount of data but don't need thousands of minutes of phone calls.

Hi scottie2345

I do believe that you can upgrade your number in a P4U store, if not then you will need a PAC code to keep the number.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

This is a well known problem if you want an early version of any phone other than an iPhone.

Vodafone is an excellent service provider, but a pretty poor retailer with a limited range of models and they seem very slow to get any new models in.

I would advise those you are looking for an upgrade to go to Carphone Warehouse and source the phone from them.

They have a much wider choice, including the Note available for delivery now and in store at the end of this week.

You can keep your Vodafone contract and number without a problem.

As an example HTC have been advertising the new Radar and Titan Windows phones for 4 weeks and they still aren't available from Vodafone Direct or stores. Pathetic really.

Hope this helps.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

I have got my note, (on VF) from P4U, and i love it the screen is fantaaaastic, after using this I am not sure that i could use another phone again.

Q is my contract had finished, now P4U said that they would upgrade my contract with VF, so i would keep my number and everything would be hassle free etc,

so far everthing has been, tucked the sim out of my galaxy S popped it in the note all is well :-)  can anyone at web services check that all has been carried out correctly, ie contract upgraded and i am not paying for 2 contracts!!!

and the galaxy appears to work ok with tesco PAYG sim is the galxy S unlocked?

Re: Samsung galaxy note

Hi scottie2345,

I'm pleased to hear that you're happy with your new phone :smileyhappy:. So that we can check that everything looks ok on your account, I'm about to send you an email. If you reply with all the details, then we'll be in touch as soon as we can.

Also, if a Tesco PAYG SIM works in your phone as well, then it's definitely unlocked.

Kind Regards,

George.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

guess i'm stuck with Vodafone then, hope in future customers will be offered a wider selection in as far as handsets go - no G note, issues with G nexus - I need a new phone (latest in the market) I find it hard to compromise when the handset I want is supplied by others. Vodafone, make us happy.

Re: Samsung galaxy note

I just bought a note sim free from amazon.de, works out at £450 with current exchange rate and is still apparently delivered from the UK, this is a £120 saving on the UK amazon site and a £180 saving from carphone warehouse

so I am now looking at a no hansdet upgtrade, what will vodafone offer me considering that Three do 1GB + 300mins + unlimited texts for £10/month
