Time on my Nexus One is late by 4-5 minutes

Hi,

I've always noticed thqat my phone was a bit late (1-3 minutes) compared to the actual time, but now it's just getting worse as this morning it was 5 minutes late. The real issue is that I use Google Authenticator and therefore the time on my phone (where the google app is installed) must be within the same minute as the time on the computer I use to log into my google online account.

Is there anything I can do to fix it in order to avoid having to manually change the time on my phone everytime I must use the Google Authenticator app?

Cheers,

Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas, unfortunately there's nothing you can do to alter the automatically updated time.

Thanks,

Tom

This is a known problem, and happens to a few Android devices. If you install ClockSync from the Android market, it'll warn you when/if the clock has drifted and prompt you to reset it. It can also automatically sync your time to an atomic clock, but due to Android security restrictions around setting date/time, you need to have a rooted device to do this.

Apparently it's much better in Android 4.0.
