Im having so much problems with this phone. I cannot receive or send any text messages and I cant even call anyone.

I got a replacement sim 2 days ago, but i still cant send any text mesages.

When i try to send a message it always says that the message could not be delivered.

I think there is something wrong with my phone. Is there a possibility that I can get replacement phone???

This problem is annoyig me and im really frustrated!!

Have you checked the apn settings

settings>wirless and networks>mobile network sttings>Access Point Names

Now there should be one in there and it should be

http://devicehelp.vodafone.co.uk/filestore/devices/Samsung/i9000%20Galaxy%20S/SamsungGalaxySi9000_WA...

Now if that is there

In Mobile network settings press network operators and it will do a scan and lock on to a network

Now if that does not work you need to make sure there is no block on your phone that can happen

Were did you get the simm from ?

Can you try another Vodafone simm in

Hi Jelaxshan and welcome along to the eforum!

If you have tried the above without success then I will now recommend that you perform a "factory data reset" on your phone by following this guide

1. Save any information, photos, contacts etc
2. Touch - Settings
3. Touch - Privacy
4. Touch Factory Data Reset

Your phone will prompt you that you will loose all your data so touck OK. Now your phone will reset itself to "out of the box" state (more or less lol) If this fails then we can look at another method to get you up and running.

On a final point. habe you tried the sim card in another phone?

hi I have done a FULL factory reset aswell and still no luck.

I have tried my sim in other phones and they work fine. It only happens in my phone

What should I do??

Im on a contract and whats the point of having a phone if it doesnt work!!!

Ok we now have another option that will involve a harder reset. What to do is:

• Remove your external sd card (if fitted) 
• Restart your phone and format your internal sd card
• Boot the phone back up
• Once restarted just enter the basics i.e. country etc
• Now in the dialer typr in this code *2767*3855# This reset will do a "hard factory reset"

Lets see if that works!

hi, thanks for the quick reply, but it still doesnt work.
I have one a couple of hard factory reset this month but with no luck..
I dont know what to do. I just want a phone that works...is there anyway that i can get a replacement phone, because its frustrating having a phone where you cant call or text anyone

I think your next move will be to go in to a Vodafone shop tomorrow and  explain the problem. They should be able to send it off for repair or at best offer you a replacement handset. I doubt there will be much the eforum team can do just now due to the time of year and they will be on Holiday.

I think that would be the best solution for now. The only other alternative to determain if its a hardware or software fault is to flash the phone but I'm sure Vodafone will come good with you.
