Please bare in mind this is only a Beta and as such Android Market and swype don't work with it yet.

But otherwise its the genuine article.

It should bring a much battery life to the phone (hopefully)

the market is not working iam on darkys 9.3 and it is not letting me download anything.

If it is a beta then why is it on Samfirmware ??? i thought they only put the full version on i shall see if kies comes up with the goods first if not roll on odin

Samsung has changed the file system to native Linux! at last!

This is a leaked beta ROM and will not be released via Kies.

There will be no doubt a few more leaked Beta's before a final release via Kies.

I have just read the massive thread on Xda The Market is up and working but and here is the but as Very Tecnical said it is a leaked version Just like we got on 2.2 this is a test firmware for developers the new Touch wiz is not on yet and No Gingerbread keyboard and the app draw is almost empty this looks like the version i have on my pc using the apk tester, Oh and it is Polish Version it would seem 

Ado28 were are you or are you doing the down load all ready, I have mentioned i was told the March was a Deff i think more like the back end for the kies roll out when that happens then i will take a look Thank god they got rid of that file system roll on the Oficial Samsung 2.3.2

I have been out at my mates and flashed 3 Galaxy's on to custom ROMS tonight. Will check up on Gingerbread tomorrow however if things are not all working then I think I can resist the urge to flash for just now, besides I have left my usb lead at their house

I actually have 3 leads but I can't blooming find the 2 spare ones. They will no doubt be buried in the cupboard at the very bottom lol

I don't think there is any need to rush in just yet.

The important thing to take from this is that there definitely is a gingerbread ROM for the galaxy S being worked on and that it is not that far off.

The other thing about gingerbread is that its not going to add lots of features like froyo did, most of the benefits of gingerbread are under the hood, specifically better battery management.

Having said all that I think we will see quite a few Custom ROMS incorporating this Gingerbread JV1, over the next few days.

At this time, it will probably be better to flash those than this JV1 direct as the Devs will likely iron out some of the issues.

I honestly didnt think that GB would be available to us until mid summer giving them a time to flog the new galaxy, and was just counting on the CM team to finish.

Ado28  will be going cold turkey soon. i have three leads as well mainly as there off other phones lol. Like others i'm on the fence on this even some of the Rom developers are as touchwise 4 was not on. i think looking at what has been said it looks like it was to test the filr system out, It made me chuckle as so of the lads had forgoten how to use odin and it was driving them nuts  and the single file as well. I took a look at when the XEU was officaly rolled out there was five versions.There does seem to be a patern 

I like it that were all waiting for ado28 to flash it, is it cos we trust his judgement ............ Maybe !!!!

No it is cos we no if there is any thing wroung he will find it as he has used so many roms he no what is good and what is garbage...

Still plenty of other roms out there to flash with. I think that some folk will be disappointed with gingerbread from what I have read already on the subject. I will hang fire in the mean time lol
