Welcome to the forum - I hope you're enjoying your new SIII. There is no way of signing out of the Play Store. You will get notifications occassionally as Apps are updated but it doesn't use a huge amount of your data unless you are downloading Apps.

For your information, one of the experts on this forum, called the soup dragon, did a test recently to check on data usage. He found that just using data and no wifi he used about 4 to 500 M a month, so your 1G should be ample.

You can download LBE from the market and this app will show you how much data useage your using and can block other apps from sending information without your knowladge saving your data allowance. The only requirement is your phone needs to be rooted for it to work

You can make your phone only work on wifi so the play app will only work on play
You can get a data switch that shuts your data connection down, I use super switch
This stops apps using data that your not aware of this is a shame tho as this is how smartphones are ment to be used for
But data presivation is a must Facebook and twitter are the main hogs

You don't have to worry about the Google Play store using up your data.
The data usage for all Google apps is optimised so that you only get very little data pushed to the device when there are updates.
For instance a new email arrives or one of the applications you have installed has an update available.
Android is built to leave applications in memory to allow the application to re-launch quickly but these are in a paused state when not active in the foreground.
And finally the Google Play account is linked to the device so the only way to log out of the Play store is a factory reset of the device.

If your worried about your 1GB data useage then you can download and install NetSentry, its a great app and you can set it to reset every month or when ever you need it too, what ever day you like, it also keeps an eye on how much data you use on wifi each month
NetSentry and other apps like it can be found on Google Play
