Hi
Can anyone help me with this please.
Have bought this phone recently and have a £10 a month contract package which includes 300 free minutes and unlimited texts. However my monthly bills are coming up as £40 plus.I have checked itemised billing and it is charging me for data browsing, which i do not understand. As i do not use the internet, which i thought this meant, what is this?
Please can anyone advise?
cheers
Martin

Hi,
If you're not knowingly going onto the internet yourself then it could be a service set up on the phone which is polling for information automatically. One possible example is an email client which can be set to automatically check for new emails every so often, resulting in data charges. Another is if you've got any widgets on your home screen checking for data.
If you've no need for the internet at all then you could always go into your internet settings and delete your APN setting (a Vodafone store could do this if you're unsure of how to finding your way around the settings). Another option would be to call customer services and have them remove GPRS from your mobile number

Another option is to upgrade the firmware in the phone to Android 2.2 which allows you to turn mobile data off and on from the power down screen.
