For a first port of call, I'd suggest the network status checker. Is this everywhere, or just in one location?
Unless you've done something obvious in Settings, I can't see why it would be the phone, just suddenly like that (barring a hardware fault).

Did that include turning it off and on again? Or you could try going into Settings|Mobile Data and locking it to 3G for a few minutes, then put it back to 2/3/4G auto. That might do it. If it doesn't do it, it's possible the network fault has come back.
