My Xperia X10 went away for a repair and as advised a made a back up using the standard backup and restore app. After a couple of weeks at the Vodafone repair centre my handset was eventually replaced. The replacement phone has 2.3 Android which looks good but how can I restore all my apps and contacts as I nolonger have a backup and restore app.

How to install it
You need to
go to settings -> applications -> check unknown sources
download OI File Manager

download the backup & restore app, transfer it to your SD card, use OI file manager to find it -> tap on it -> install it
you can download another version of the backup & restore app here

I've got an Arc, so can't comment on 2.3 on the X10, but I've gone through
1.6, 2.1 and 2.2 on HTC handsets, and can only say that 2.3 seems to be an
improvement, but that might just simply be down to the hardware.
