Sony Ericsson - Can I Early Upgrade?

I got a contract for a voda deal, £40 per month - this was signed in October of last year

Ive not really used it, and got it for the Satio, which I love - i know many dont!

However, I have seen the vivaz, and want to get it. I am wondering is there a way to upgrade early, or can i pay up the deal (its a 12 month deal) and then start again to get the vivaz...i really want it!

I literally have never used my contract, and I want something that will help me get more use!

Any help? E-moderators?

Sony Ericsson - Can I Early Upgrade?

Just emailed the webform guys and had a question

Here's the response to the above question I posed to them too..

"
You are in an contract of 12-month, which started on 21st October 2009 and will be completed on 20th October 2010.

You are currently not eligible for an upgrade. If you wish to buy the Sony Ericsson phone, you can pay the ETF (Early Termination Fees) as on date is £258.10.

Samir, you can also take another contract, if you wish to. However, you won't be able to get the Sony Ericsson with the same contrac which is running.

You can contact our upgrades team, if you wish to take a new contract or get back to me with the confirmation regards to ETF.

I trust the above information helps.

Kind regards,
Vodafone Customer Services"

I also worked out from looking at my bills I pay £35 a month, the £40 includes VAT.

Taking that into account, am I wrong in thinking the ETF Charge is wrong as the last month should not be charged and VAT should be not added to the final amount?

My cycle is midway through the month, so I am I right in thinking they will charge for 7 months up to september 2010?

Hi James

I used the links through the forum to get to the contact us page, that prompted me to put in a "MM" code and then send my message.

Is that the eforum team that would reply? Wasnt sure

Re: Sony Ericsson - Can I Early Upgrade?

Hi Eforum guys!

I in the end managed to get a sony x10i...

My only issue has been my x10i has since the 2.1 upgrade gone mental and keeps restarting....it works fine sometimes, but then gets in a loop of restarting no matter what I do!! ughhhhhhh!

And..I have been told that some batches of x10i's are suffering from a motherboard problem, I have noticed the phone has been getting very hot and I can when I take the battery cover off smell burning slightly

I no longer have the recepit I got saying I got the phone for free on my contract, but of course still have the contract sim card (and the non working handset!)

What is the process I have to do to get this fixed??? Please help, my beloved phone is dying on me!!!!

Re: Sony Ericsson - Can I Early Upgrade?

Hi the_kop,

Thanks for posting, I'm pleased to hear that you managed to upgrade to an X10, although I'm disappointed to hear that it now seems to be faulty.

Your warranty period will last for 24 months, regardless of the length of contract, so you've no need to worry about the warranty running out. Details of how to arrange a repair can be found on our eForum FAQ page.

Re: Sony Ericsson - Can I Early Upgrade?

I would like to bet on the fact that the phone still has not been sorted out. Vodafone customer service is the worst.
