Hi
I bought my little sister a new pay as you go Sony Xperia mobile for Christmas and she put a passcode on it and promptly forgot what the code was. Now she is locked out of the phone and we don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your Sister is going to need her PUK code. Just ask her to use Live Chat, they will get it sorted.
When she uses the code given to her by Live Chat, make sure she uses the correct code, if she inserts it incorrectly more than 5 times, the SIM will be locked and she will need a new SIM card.

Has she engaged the Sim Pin and forgotten it which would typically be envoked when inserting the SIM card into another phone or turning it off and back on.
Or has she set up a passcode on the phone as security to stop anyone getting into the phones features ?
If the latter then first try and remember the code is the better avenue.
If this does not resolve then you may have to Hard Reset the phone which may help although this will delete any data in the phones memory.
Google 'Hard Reset' for the make and model of the phone.
