Re: X10 Mini updated to 2.1 - lost ALL contacts!

Awesome, I've not only lost my contacts but my post as well.  Well, lets go for another attempt shall we? :smileymad:

I had notification from Companion at the weekend that Andriod 2.1 was available for my X10 mini.  About time too as many inclusing myself have been waiting for this for some time.  So I followed all of the instructions, which included using the Backup and Restore tool on the phone to firstly back-up all of my contacts, messages, apps and settings.

All seemed to be fine with the upgrade.  Some neat new features, etc... The BAD news I have is that the Restore option only restored my messages.  All of my contacts, apps and settings have been LOST.  Well annoyed as I'd installed quite a few apps and had over 100+ contacts.  Fuming, I've had to spend the weekend scrabbling around for numbers and trying to figure out from the messages that were backed up who the message was off and adding them a new contacts.

Anyone else had a similar experience?  Reading up on this reveals that LOTS of people have had a similar problem with X10 upgrades.  Long and short of it seems to be data is lost.  Most annoyed!!!!!

Numpty-ville. Apologies to those that have seen the topic and managed to read nothing in the original post. User error or IE9.....

Re: X10 Mini updated to 2.1 - lost ALL contacts!

Hi markbarrett33 and welcome to the eForum

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you have had this problem with your phone. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

Unfortunately I'm not sure that you will be able to get this information back if its not restoring from your back up and restore. However, I'm that if this is possible, our eForum members will be along shortly to assist you further with this

Thanks

Wayne

Re: X10 Mini updated to 2.1 - lost ALL contacts!

stable door and all that but sign up for an online backup for contacts like google or SEs own service. Mine wiped itself of all apps and contacts even using the newly downloaded backup app. Least I could deleted all the VF 360 and trial games etc. Need to do the Mrs phone when she gets back from travelling - that'll be protracted again:smileymad:
