Hi - I want to tidy up my home screens on the x10 mini pro and tried to uninstall the various trial apps that came preloaded but following the user guide and application management there's on option to uninstall or remove them. Ones I've downloaded from the marketplace have the option but not the preinstalled ones. Anyone advise how I can get rid of these and free up the space on the homescreens for more useful apps?

Normally preinstallex apps cannot be uninstalled unless u root the phone which can be disaterous if warranty issue arose. U should be able to press and hold the app and move it to a bin at the bottom of the page. They will still remain on the phone but nt on the homescreen.

You have to hold down your finger on the app or widget first of all - your app-tray at the bottom of the screen will then turn into a bin, which you drag the icon onto to remove. Please be aware this simply removes the icon, it does not uninstall the application.

removing the icons would be enough from the apps tabs but that method of holding it down etc doesn't work at all on the mini pro. Any other tips?

I'd like a response too please to the removing them to the bin thing as I have the same phone. And like many other people also find the installed apps or demo's very annoying. I also feel that saying if there were ever a factory reset it would mean they would still be there is a cop out. System related apps only should be necessary and certainly not games or the vodafone specific ones. If someone wants them they will re download them if they get lost.

the bin will only remove icons from the homescreen, the app menu will only allow u to duplicate the icons there to place on the homescreen, if u press and hold an app icon in the app menu and it then appears on the homescreen but u done it by mistake it will show the bin to put it in or let go and it go onto one of the screen that ur want it on. the only way to remove an app completely is by going to settings, aplications, manage applications. as already stated there are apps that are demos and trials, even branded voda apps that cannot be removed, this is just the way it is and has always been atleast on every handset ive ever had from any network. as already stated elsewhere on the forum, if u dont want the branded version of the handset then go direct to the manufacturer, but even then there will be apps that are demos and cannot be removed, reason why people take a subsidised handset with a carrier is that it doesnt hit them in the pocket straight away.

the amount of preinstalled ###### that vodafone puts on their phone is disgusting, not to mention the fact it seems to get increased with updates. do they really think this makes people want to stay with them? I just got a phone from a friend and unfortunately i did a pc companion update and all this rubbish got put on, about 20 apps.
i will never buy vodafone because of this kind of ######.
