Xperia Play Fuzzy Screen Problem

Hi all,
I plugged my Xperia Play into charge after the battery died and when it started up it was just a fuzzy white screen covered in little coloured dots...looks all pixelated and will not do anything. Once or tiwce if you persevere the touch screen will scroll then I could call but will not even do that now.
There seem to be a lot of folk on all the forums with the same issue, anyone here had this probelm? Only had the phone about 6 months...any advice appreciated as haven't been able to get through to vodafone (to be fair I haven't been able to sit in a queue as no spare time at the mo).

I am sorry that this has caused you frustration and I can certainly see why it would.
So we can decipher whether this is a software issue or a haedware issue please can you let me know what software you are currently running.
Please can you back up all of your contacts and information, ensure you are running the latest software for your device and perform a hard reset.
- Switch the handset on
- Whilst powered up, remove the SIM card and battery
- Put the battery back in and switch on
- Wait a couple of minutes, then remove the battery again
- Replace the SIM and battery and switch back on
If you are still experiencing difficulties please perform a factory reset and if this has not solved the issue please take the device to your local store and one of our experts will be able to take a look and advise you of your best options or alternatively we can arrange a postal repair.

hey.
i have the exact same problem.
done what u said and still doesnt work.
cant restore factory settings because i cant see a thing as the screen is all fuzzy

Hi bigandy85,
If you're unable to do the factory reset mentioned in the post above, you'll need to take the device to your local store to have it checked over or alternatively we can arrange a postal repair. If you're unable to back up your data too, you can also use the complimentary Red Box service in store along with a memory stick so as not to lose anything important or sentimental. ![]()
