a different notification tone for email and messages

I have tried for ages to get this phone to play a different tone for emails and a different tone for text messages

What I want is to be able to set my phone up to notify me like below

EMAILS " you have email"

TEXTS "you have a text message"

I have tried changing the tone in notifications for emails and that is ok

but it also changes the notification message for texts

IE. I go into emails set the tone to "you have email"

then I go into messages and when I look it says "you have email" so I change the notification to "you have a text message" and fine that's what it plays

BUT!!!! when I go back into emails the notification has changed from email to " you have a text message"

I want my phone to play email notification for emails

and

Text notification for texts

how do I do it

This should be possible if you go into the settings for each application, rather than the main settings menu.
