water damage

Just had a phone back from tech guys that I sent in for repair and they have said that it has water damage so voided the warranty yet both moisture indicators are has white as snow what other signs of water damage is there as I know the phones not been near water or steam. And does anybody know how to get a second opinion without paying for it

HI there

 

Those are the moisture detectors that you can see. There are others that you can't see unless you dismantle the handset (no recommended).  

 

I would recommend that you contact the manufacturer directly.  They have more discretion when it comes to a water damaged device whereas a third party repair agent like Vodafone have very stringent guidelines that they have to follow.

I'll second what drey_p said.   As a 3rd party repairer, Vodafone aren't allowed to go any further if the external sensors have been triggered.   The manufacturer will open the device and look at the internal ones.  If they're OK, they'll normally proceed under warranty.
