For just an extra £3 a day, you can use your UK price plan in Europe.
What’s included?
- Standard voice calls using your minutes
- Standard texts using your allowance
- Standard data using your allowance including sending and receiving emails (If you have a tethering bundle, this will be included in your EuroTraveller usage)
If you run out of minutes, texts or data you'll then just be charged the standard UK rates.
What countries are included?
Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey), Croatia, Cyprus (excluding northern Cyprus), Czech Republic, Denmark (inc. Faroe Islands), Estonia, Faroe islands, Finland, France (inc French West Indies & Reunion), Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy (inc. San Marino and Vatican City), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal (inc. Madeira), Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (inc. Balearic Islands & Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland.
What happens if I go to a country that isn't in the above list?
Charges for other countries can be found here.
When does the £3 per day period run from?
This runs up to midnight local time.
You can opt in easily:
By sending a text to 40506 with the word ADD. You will then receive an automatic acknowledgement to let you know it's successful.
Or by calling the free automated help line on 5555.
Other useful information:
For more information see our Vodafone EuroTraveller page.
See here for common questions about Vodafone EuroTraveller.
For information on EuroTraveller for business click here.
Usage examples:
Compared with Vodafone Passport, receiving 3 calls in a day would have cost £2.25, but with EuroTraveller there'd be no charge.
If a customer with Data Traveller (£2 a day) and Vodafone Passport uses 20MB of data, makes two calls, receives one call and sends four texts, they'll be charged £4.61. With EuroTraveller, there would only be a £3 charge (providing they're staying within their UK allowances).

Here is an explanation of what is happening to each of our existing roaming products as a result of the launch of EuroTraveller and the changes to EU roaming prices.
Data Traveller £2 a day for 25MB
You'd use this product if you didn't have an inclusive roaming data allowance or an additional bundle, and accessed the internet whilst in Europe.
This product ceased to exist on 1st July. Existing customers were moved onto the EU regulated data rate of 69.6p per MB, with the option to opt into Vodafone EuroTraveller.
Data Traveller £10 a month for 25MB per day
This product was a bundle you would add to your account at the cost of £10 per month.
This product ceased to exist on 1st July. Existing customers were moved onto the EU regulated data price of 69.6p per MB, with the option to opt into Vodafone EuroTraveller.
Data Traveller inclusive
An inclusive allowance of 25MB of EU roaming data per day, as part of a monthly price plan costing £40 or more.
This product has been closed to new customers, although will remain with existing customers until they change their price plan.
Vodafone Passport
Reduced rates for making and receiving calls in Europe and selected other countries.
This product has been closed to new customers. Existing customers will retain it either until the end of their price plan, or until it is completely withdrawn, whichever happens soonest. Withdrawal is anticipated by the end of 2012.
Passport will remain for Pay As You Go customers.

Hi
We have compiled the most commonly asked questions from the forum. We will periodically update this thread if any other questions are asked.
- To use EuroTraveller, do I have to connect to a Vodafone partner network?
No. In the past some promotions required you to select a specific partner network but this is no longer the case.
- Would a call or text within the country that I am in be charged as an international call from the UK or would those calls come out of my plan allowance?
Whilst you're in one of the Europe Zone countries, calls and texts back to the UK, elsewhere in that country and to any other Europe Zone country are included in EuroTraveller. So, after the £3 daily charge, you'd just use your allowance or if you had no minutes remaining would just pay the standard cross network rate of 35 pence per minute.
- If I’m abroad and call another country (e.g in France and calling Greece), would I be charged for an international call?
Whilst using EuroTraveller you can call other Europe Zone countries using your minutes. If you run out of minutes you'll just be charged the standard cross network rate of 35 pence per minute.
- If my partner has opted into EuroTraveller but has not made a call that day (so therefore has not activated it), what happens if I call from the UK? Who get's charged and how much?
As you are in the UK, calling a UK number you’d be charged your normal rates (using minutes if you had them or your standard rates if you had no minutes left). Your partner would pay nothing, as receiving calls on EuroTraveller is free and doesn’t activate the £3 daily charge.
- Can I add Data Traveller for £10 if I’m still on Passport?
No. Data Traveller is no longer available to add to accounts, either as an inclusive daily allowance, or a temporary £10 add-on. If you already have it within your price plan, you can keep it but if you opt into EuroTraveller, it would be removed and you would not be able to re-add it in the future.
- Will Passport or Data Traveller go away from 1st July?
Passport and Data Traveller are no longer available to add to accounts. If you already have either, you can keep it but if you opt into EuroTraveller, it would be removed and you would not be able to re-add it in the future. The £10 Data Traveller add-on is no longer available - it's only the Data Traveller allowance included in price plans which will stil be available.
- When I dial 5555 one of the options is to opt out of passport, however I have no idea if I am on it, as that might be common to all callers. Is there anyway to tell?
If you register for My Account, or log in if you're already registered, you can hover over "My Account" in the top right corner of the screen. Select "My products and plans" and then "view my plan details". This should display whether you currently have Vodafone Passport or not.
- Is EuroTraveller available for my iPad?
Currently, EuroTraveller is only available for mobile phones.
- Are there are daily limits to the Euro Traveller plans?
No. EuroTraveller lets you use your home price plan abroad. If you run out of your minutes/texts/data then you just pay your standard UK out of bundle charges.
- I currently pay for the tethering option on my account, so I can connect my Mac to the internet via my iPhone. On Vodafone EuroTraveller, would I be able to use this tethering allowance as if I was in the UK?
If you have a tethering pack on your account, it can be used with Euro Traveller. If you can use your phone as a hotspot in the UK, you'll also be able to use this with Euro Traveller.
- What am I charged for receiving a call when opted into EuroTraveller?
Receiving calls with EuroTraveller is free. It won’t even activate the £3 daily charge.
- What does trigger the £3 daily charge?
The charge is triggered by:
Calls made to any non-premium rate UK mobile phone or landline
Any text sent to a non-premium rate UK number
Any mobile internet used (including checking for, sending and receiving emails)
Checking your voicemail
- Is there a monthly option available for EuroTraveller instead of the £3 daily rate?
We don't have any plans announced at the moment to have a monthly option.
- Does Data Test Drive work abroad?
No. If you are on Data Test Drive, you would be charged your standard out of bundle data rates for your price plan.
- What are the UK out of bundle data charges if you use your data allowance?
£5 for 250MB.
- On EuroTraveller, how much does it cost to call a Europe Zone country, whilst in the Europe Zone?
Whilst using EuroTraveller you can call other Europe Zone countries using your minutes. If you run out of minutes you'll just be charged the standard cross network rate of 35 pence per minute.
- If you have the £5 for 500MB or £15 for 2GB pack, would it be included in EuroTraveller as the information mentions that 'extras' aren't included?
The answer is that these two packs would be included - extras that are not included are here.
- Does the Euro spend cap still apply with EuroTraveller enabled?
By opting in to Vodafone EuroTraveller you opt out of the European €50 monthly mobile internet spend cap.
- Can you please just confirm that opting into EuroTraveller means that you are NOT opting out of ‘Data Traveller - Rest of World’?
Opting into EuroTraveller would not opt you out of ‘Data Traveller - Rest of World’.
- How much does it cost to use your phone abroad if you do not use EuroTraveller?
For up to date prices for using your phone abroad without EuroTraveller, see here.
- Is Vodafone Passport still available?
Vodafone Passport is available for all customers on Pay As You Go. On Pay Monthly, Passport is closed to new customers, but anyone who currently has it on their price plan will be able to keep it until they change their plan, or the service is removed altogether, whichever is sooner. We anticipate removal of the service by the end of 2012.
