Laugh,  thanks for your response. However this is a problem with your server and the code running on the JSP page. This is a Java Stacktrace which represents that some bug exists in your server code.  No amount of referring to FAQs will resolve this. How this even made it into a production system, shows the poor testing performed on your systems. Could the Tech Team please stop asking us to fill out different forms and instead get someone from your end to investigate the issue! I cannot add any new numbers to my Sure Signal box and have been unable to do so for the past week. So another service which I'm paying for and not getting.

Hi julzdawson,

Welcome to the eForum.

So we can look into this for you, please get in touch with us here.

Thanks,

Sarah

Thanks for your reply but the problem is at your end in websphere or the system it is calling out to, so I suggest you contact your technical team and show them the JAVA exception dump. I also really dislike the no-support set up you have and would like complain about it. You are forcing you customers (who pay your for all of your and the rest of your colleagues wages and the profit that your owners receive) to jump through a significant and completely unacceptable number of hoops just to try and raise support call. This and all the other forum areas (not to mention the rest of the internet) is completely stuffed with irate people complaining about this so I'll not add to the general rant but just add my reasons for not contacting you back via the method you suggested and to post a response to this thread. Firstly the contact us message: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hi We want to help you further, so please get in touch following these instructions: Type ****** into the subject field of the form (link below). If any additional characters or spaces are in the subject area, your email will not route to us. Include your Twitter or Facebook username Also, make sure to include the following information. (If this isn't included, we'll email you back asking for it) Monthly line rental amount Sort Code of the bank your Direct Debit is taken from You might be busy, so let us know if you’d prefer a call or an email. If you’re a business customer, select "Pay Monthly" rather than "Business". The page will time out after 10 minutes. If your email is likely to take longer to write, copy and paste it before submitting. The form to enter all of the above info, can be found here. Thanks ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A very arrogant and condescending message. We want to help, there is precious little evidence for that and it certainly doesn't feel like it. Enter this subject exactly as I say or we will ignore you. Include Facebook or twitter user names; why? Send us sensitive bank related information over a mickey mouse insecure form over the internet; not likely. Yes I am busy, it's your problem with your systems, fix it. Our internal systems are so crap we're asking you to lie on the form if your a business customer. Oh, and after all that, this message will self destruct after ten minutes like some message to Mr Phelps. Next the wonderful web-form: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Send us an email We need a bit of information about you to confirm who you are for security purposes. Please fill out each of the following areas so we can help with your query quickly. Items marked with (*) are mandatory. Please select: Business Pay as you go Pay monthly Not a customer Title: * Mr Mrs Miss Ms First name: * Last name: * Email: * Re-enter email address: * Mobile number: * Alternate contact number: Date of birth: * Current payment method: * First line of address: * Postcode: * Phone make and model: Subject: * Please fill in your question: * ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (sorry about the formatting but you can see the requested data items) I am you customer, I have registered with you numerous times, at least once to to get a phone, again to set up a internet web account with you and again inexplicably to register with this forum and I'm sure there were others. The point is you know all of this and more about me so don't keep asking for it. Oh, it's for security you might say, well no it's not. This does not add anything to my complaint that your back end systems are failing to process my requests. For me to have my system connected to you network I have been vetted by you and all of these details have been collected and stored. For me to post on this forum I have had to register with these details, so look them up. You do not need this information to process this support call. If you had asked for my SureSignal serial number then I would have been more than happy to provide it. That would indicate that you might be taking this issue seriously and that you might fix it. I hope you allow this message onto your forum and leave it there as I'm sure other customers would like to know that they are not alone if finding your non-support system unfit for purpose, and that your confident enough to allow criticism onto your forums. Julz.

Hi julzdawson,

Please reply to the message Sarah sent so that we can help further. If you've no longer have the message, I've resent it here.

Thanks,

Sukhi

I too have the same problem. I completely agree with julzdawson. They have pointed out a problem. This is a server problem from Vodafone's side.  It is up to Vodafone to investigate and fix the issue. Its not up to customers to fill out other forms. The customer service from Vodafone is absolutely shocking,  the responses from the Tech Team on this post are extremely dissappointing, seeming to be some form of template response,  and show little care for the impact this issue is causing for paying customers. For me this is the final straw. I will NOT renew my contract with Vodafone and highly recommending to others to stay away from Vodafone.

Hi seanow,

Please take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread. If this doesn’t resolve your query, please post your reply either below, or in the relevant thread, together with the details requested, including the following information.

Your speed test results from here.

Your ping test results from here.

Your external IP address from here.

The results of a traceroute.

Your Sure Signal serial number:

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:

Click on Start and select Run

Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok

A black box will appear.

In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter

Paste the output of this command into your reply.

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Thanks

Laura

Laugh,  thanks for your response. However this is a problem with your server and the code running on the JSP page. I cannot add any new numbers to my Sure Signal box and have been unable to do so for the past week. So another service which I'm paying for and not getting.

As seanow says, it's still broken. Now perhaps it's odd that all users of the Not So SureSignal are suffering this problem, as if that were the case then I would expect a bit more chatter on this forum. So, in a fit of generosity here is the info you Laura have so politely asked for:

Speed test : ping 44ms, download 6.3Mbps, upload 0.33Mbps
Ping test : 66ms, jitter 2ms (no packet loss data as I don't run client side Java)
IP address : IPV4 213.122.254.75, IPV6 ::ffff:d57a:fe4b

Traceroute :

Now whatever the final reason is for this behaviour turns out to be, I shouldn't be treated to a Java dump as a responce to user add request, this is an error in the backend Java code not catching the exception and dealing with it in a sensible way.

One other piece of infomation that you havn't asked for which might be of use is the number I'm trying to add; this is 07900692552. This isn't a phone but a mobile WiFi hot spot device (one of yours).

Julz.

Also note, the number that the Not So SureSignal is registererd with is not the same as the main account holder (difficult to change) and as your FAQ so charmingly points out:

Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.

Julz.

p.s. I have added number sucsessfully just after I registered the device.
