Solution

All sorts of issues

Hi

I have been a suresignal user for years and recently bought a v3 box to replace v2 which had some power supply issues. Except for the power issues the box worked great and I receives full signal everywhere at home. Since changing to v3 however......

Connection regularly dropping and reconnecting - can be hours or minutes between drop outs
Signal varies from room to room
Signal can be anywhere between 1 and 5 bars but probably averages at 3 (2 in upstairs rooms)
Signal seems far better on blackberry than on new iphone 5S
Even when on 2 bars - I'm pretty certain the handset is still connected to sure signal as without it there is no chance I would usually get any 3G signal

Nothing else in my setup has changed between changing boxes - same ISP (virgin media 120meg), same router (Apple AirPort Extreme) etc. and all ports are open as required.

I have also had a resynch/reset done the other day by the technical team over phone.

Please help - is driving me mad!!! Serial number of box is 40132748589.

Thanks

Hi there adamross100,

Thanks for posting.

It seems strange that you'd get dropped calls using the Sure Signal on those speeds.

How old is the replacement VSS?

Would it be possible for you to try it on another connection for 24 hours to see if the problems are replicated at a friend, relative or neighbour's house?

Cheers,

LeeH

Hi Lee

V3 box is 2 weeks old but I only setup this week.

The dropping connection seems to have eased up a bit but even when connected the signal fluctuates when not directly next to the box (interestingly seems much more noticably on iphone 5S than on blackberry). Nothing else in my setup has changed between v2 and v3 box (ie no additional equipment which may interfere).

Will be difficult to find the time to install somewhere else - but as above the bigger issue seems with the signal to the handset rather than the connection of the box.

Any thoughts/help appreciated!

Thanks

Spoke too soon.....

Now have flashing red light with 2 solid orange lights on.  Have tried another reset but same result.

Please help me!

UPDATE - Has now reconnected again - but for how long I wonder!

I am still having these multiple issues. I can only think it is a problem with the suresignal unit itself. I went today to the Vodafone store to have it replaced but they refused on the grounds that it was over 7 days old (is 14). This is ridiculous, a faulty unit should be exchanged. They said an exchange needed to be arranged via customer services. Please can you arrange this urgently.

Hi adamross100

If a product falls faulty outside the 7 day exchange period the next step would be a repair. See how to arrange this here.

Thanks
