Changing location & owner of SureSignal

I get a new SureSignal 3 as part of my job, so having already purchased a Suresignal3 and have it in use ...want to donate to my Father.

He has a VF pay-as-you-go account ...

The steps I think you follow are:

# contact VF and request exisiting device is de-registered

# move to parents house install and then create on-line account for my Father

# register suressignal device to phone to the account.

# add any other VF phones as normal

Then install & register new device in my own home.

Is the above correct sequence ?

Finally do VF provide any firemware updates for SureSignal, is this something I need to check?

Your suggested course of action is correct :Smiling:

I don't believe ther are updates available. Any updates are incorporated when a new version of SS is released.

If you have found this helpful, please give Thanks :Smiling:

The de-registrtaion of old unit went ahead and install of new unit.

Surprising how how it took before it became active ...    The 'suresignal is registerred' txt arrived a few minutes after enterring details.

Usesr received de-registration & re-registration text promptly ..

But unit did not become active (white slowly flashing icon) for about 3 Hrs.

Seems an awful long time.

It can take up to 24 hrs before it becomes active.

Good luck with the install :Smiling:

First few calls had to be terminated and revert to landline ... 'callers' reported very poor quality.

Tried it several times again today ... so assume that after hop 11  the servers are set to have its firewall configured to reject ICMP packets

Further update .. as of this morning the SureSignal is not working (no phones connect)

Amber light (phone in use) steady -   Red light flashing.

Reboot of Suresignal & router had no effect.

(update) after about 3 Hrs it came back up .... Red steady ... 2 x white steady

so will wait for yor advice on the trouble shoot data

Hi sargan,

The Sure Signal version 3 needs speeds of 4.13mbps to work at full capacity. Your speeds are quite low, so I'd recommend speaking to your internet service provider to see if they can help with this.

I can see from your traceroute you have a BT Home Hub. You don't mention which version, however the Home Hub 3 has compatibility issues with Sure Signals. If possible, please try a different router.

Thanks,

Kay
