Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

Not sure if im in the right place but quite frankly i dont care anymore.

I have been a Vodafone customer since 1997 and never had a problem until december time.

My sure signal device should be renamed i think to never get a signal!!!!!

My device is giving me this feed back.

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

Hi LeighMatthews and welcome to the eForum

Thanks for your post and all the information you have provided. I appreciate how frustrating this must all be for you.

Are you having trouble adding a user? If so, see/post here

Are you having trouble registering the device?

Are you having trouble picking up 3G signal even though it’s already registered?

Can you also provide me with your Sure Signal serial number?

Thanks

Wayne

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I have followed the troubleshooting infoarmtion in this thread but still have an issue with my SS.

My issue is that my Owner phone can pickup a full 3G signal from the VSS, but any of the User mobiles don't get a signal.

The VSS is obviously connecting and working as verified by my Owner mobile, but there's a problem with any additional users.

Any advice would be great.

The VSS serial number is 40120541392

Thanks

Trevor

Thank you for your post and your additional information.:smileyhappy:

I have checked your serial number and can see that two additional numbers have connected yesterday to your device, please can you advise me if you are still experiencing difficulties.

Many Thanks

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

Hi,

I have spent hours on the phone to the tech team and also sought help from a Vodafone shop, all without success. My frustration is high and my patience is low.

My phone was picking up the SS fine until I was sent a new SIM card to correct a phone issue. The phone issue is resolved (it could make calls but not receive them, but 3G & SS connectivity was fine) but since swapping over the SIM card my phone will not pick up the SS.

The SS has been reset. All lights except the mobile one are solid green. I have transferred the SS ownership to my wife's Vodafone account and back to me again. My phone is picking up 3G fine in a 3G area but it won't pick up the SS. Her phone is non-3G, so I can't test that.

Sure Signal Serial Number: 21229042938

What else can be done before I simply give up and throw the SS in the bin? Surely Vodafone can help to resolve this issue! I am fed up with being passed from person to person who just can't help to sort this issue.

Regards

Matt

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

Hi matt_brown1964,

Can I check that, when you changed the ownership to your wife and back, you deleted and re-added your number from the Sure Signal whilst she was "owner" of the box? Due to the SIM change, this would be the key part if the box did not pick up your handset again automatically.

In the meantime, I've also performed a re-sync for you to look to refresh the Sure Signal, so can you perform a fresh factory reset and let me know if that helps for you?

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead.
  • Once all lights display release the reset button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

Thank you Dave,

Yes, I added my number to the SureSignal once I had transferred it with my wife's account. I then transferred it back to mine again. I didn't delete my number in her account as I assumed that transferring would have the same effect.

Please note that I 'transferred' the SS between the accounts. There is a 'Deregister' option which I did not try. I am not sure of the difference between 'Transfer' and 'Deregister'.

Regarding the SS, I reset it as your instructions a couple of hours ago. There are now just two lights illuminated. The top light (number 1) and the next one down (number two). They are flashing in this sequence.

- Number 1 on.
- All off.
- Number 1 and 2 on together.
- Number 1 off but 2 still on.
- Repeat sequence.

All other lights are off & no 3G.

Thanks & regards,

Matt

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

Hey matt_brown1964,

Thanks for coming back to us.

I have one final check for you. Please could you try the VSS on another connection such as at a friends or relatives house to see if the issue persists?

If it does then I've sent you a PM which can be accessed here. If you could follow the instructions in the PM and send us your details one of the team will be with you as soon as they can.

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

SureSignal 2 stopped working 24 hours ago. Power and system lights constant. iPhone 3GS picks up 3G from masts. Have reset the SS2 but to no avail. SS2 is about a month old and has worked faultlessly thus far. Have double-checked settings on router and registered numbers on My Sure Signal. Please advise.

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

HI, I've just noticed that, although my New SureSignal indicates both lights, my phone doesn't see it, even in close proximity. It has worked fine for the couple of months since installation &, as far as I can tell, nothing on my HTC  phone has changed.

My wife's Samsung works just fine.

Can you advise whether there is anything I can do to encourage the HTC to see SS?

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

[ Edited ]

Hi Everyone

@saintcharlie – Can you try your SIM in another phone to see if you are able to get a connection?

Does your phone work and connect to 3G in other areas?

Is your phone number definitely registered on the Sure Signal?

If you try all this and you still have issue and you are able to pick up 3G in other areas, then, along with zwolskp, I have sent you both a private message that explains exactly how to get in touch with us so that we can get this sorted for you.

@ronmitch – Have you tried removing and re-adding your number? The fact that your wives phone works ok indicates that the Sure Signal is functioning normally.

Can you try this and let me know how you get on?

Thanks

Wayne

If you have a spare minute could you please take the time to fill out a short feedback form about me?

You can do so here

Re: Sure Signal - Correct Lights on but not Picking up 3G Signal

Hi,

I think I'm going mad!!!

The first screen has a link "Register & Manage your SS"

When selected, this gives a page with 3 options to the left:

My SS

Register SS

SS Opt out

& 2 more:

Register

Find out More

..... none of these lead to "Manage Users" as referred to in the instructions.

Am I in the wrong place? Blind? Mad?

Having this issue, all phones have been accessing 3g today elsewhere without any problem.

I look forward to hearing from you.
