Hello, after 2 days phoning VF, scanning the forums and carrying out the Sure Signal help advice, I found Iseem to be having the exact same issue as D-Mac had in his post (1/10/2011; 09:27):

To respond to your comment, our VSS is working perfectly well because we are able to receive a 3G signal from it on three different devices. The problem is that our new fourth device, although having been registered with the Sure Signal service, is not picking up a 3G signal from the VSS, although this device is capable of picking up a 3G signal away from the VSS in other locations.

Thanks for you reply. Can you please post the following results to this thread?
Traceroute.
- On a PC / Laptop :
- Click on Start and select Run
- Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
- A black box will appear.
- In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
- Paste the output of this command into your reply.
Finally, try your Sure Signal on an alternative connection to see if you experience the same difficulties.

Hi Simon apologies as this had been solved in another thread and I replied to your PM with a ? (thinking I had more problems than I had thought
)
Essentially I was having problems, unaware if it was my phone or the Sure Signal. The answer was neither!
Patience was the virtue required here and I hope that this will help others, as I had already gone and got a new sim having been told it must be that which was faulty.
In the end I had gone to bed totally peeved............next morning........yep it worked!
My sim took 15 hours to register with my Sure Signal, not the 2 quoted in the instructions.

Thanks for your reply with the requested info. Your speedtest and pingtest are perfect and your traceroute is absolutely fine. It's difficult to make further suggestions at this point as you've already registered a replacement device with the same results as previous.
As one final suggestion, I might suggest de-registering the device and re-registering under a different owner. This is a known workaround where customers have existing lines working a new one will not register. In your case it's the other way around where the new number is fine and the two existing ones are intermittent.
Have there been any changes to your existing phones, i.e. any firmware updates that may have switched your lines to 2G only without your knowledge?

Hi,
My SureSignal " seems to have packed up.
- Normal lighs on but no improved signal
- Phone light does not come on when I make a call
- Unplugged power for 60 seconds and rebooted three times - the lights sequence normally.
- Tried other handset with this SIM, same result
Any Ideas ?

The issue sems to now be resolved, maybe by the remote reset - I now have a full "H" signal - 3G in HTC lingo.

I have a VSS 2 (I think) and whilst it works with my wifes iPhone, it won't work with mine. It used to briefly and I have checked that my number is registered etc.
I have reset the router etc and the VSS and have a steady power light and second light but the phone one doesn't light up and i have no 3g signal.
Can anyone offer any help?

Hi,
I have a problem with my Sure Signal that's not listed in the "menu."
It is a new-type of SS, and was working fine until the power was switched off for around 5 minutes. It will now not connect.
Power light is on (solid) and system light is constantly flashing.
I have tried powering off again, re-setting my broadband hub and re-setting the SS. None of this has helped.
S/N 40121005074
Any help would be appreciated.

I just cannot understand this - the service worked perfectly for two years.

Since yesterday evening i have not been able to pick up a 3g signal on my handset I have the new V2 unit.
I have tried reseting the SS unit serveral time and every time the SS syncs up on network as it shud do with the power and system light are on but im unable to picki up 3G signal.
From reading through the posts on here many members seem to be also affected with this problem so there seems to be a problem.
I am not even going to call customer services because all they ever do is deny there is ever any problems and say they will perform a reset and re sync on the SS device please allow upto 24hrs then you call back and next customer service advisor says the same ![]()
Can a member of staff raise this issue for me please

@ Robert128, I have checked the Sure Signal and can see that there has been a location move detected which could be causing this issue.
I have updated this for you today, please can you allow up to one hour for this to take affect, reboot your phone and let us know how you get on.
@ Digicom, I can see that your Sure Signal updated on the server last night so you should be ok to connect to the Sure Signal.
What phones are you using when trying to connect?
Are you still having troubles?
In the meantime I will re-sync the Sure Signal for you however once done if you can let me know how you are getting on we will be able to look into this further for you as the registration all looks ok.

Yes my problems started around 10-11pm last night also i noticed sometimes it will pick up a 3G Signal but after a minute it looses it again and returns to Edge.
For many months now i have not had any problems until last night so i no my registration is fine so there is definetly a problem on the network and SS tech team refuse to acknowledge this as is always the case whenever these is a SS problem.
Regards the handset ive tryed to contact are:Nokia Lumia 800, Nokia N8, Nokia C-6 all of which connected fine untill last night.

I took the sim card out of each phone, reinserted them and all three phones are now picking up the signal. I hope I am not celebrating too soon but many thanks again for your help.
