DIY fix for sure signal after four days down

So 4 days ago my mobile signal dropped at home, a sure sign that the sure signal box was in need of a manual reset.

 

This time however, the only light working was the continuous red power button.

 

I called the helpline and was told that this meant it wasn't connecting to the router and to try a different cable, which I did to no effect.

 

The surebox help team then sent me an email message with a lot of super techie questions for my internet service provider, nearly all of which it transpired were totally irrelevant as my connections are all wired.

 

With no other support available and them failing to return my follow up call as promised I held the reset button in continuously for about one minute and eventually the interet light came on the surebox, and after some more holding the reset button in the internet light stayed flashing.

 

An hour later the surebox came back to life and my problem was resolved.

 

No thanks to customer support at all. Couldn't they have suggested trying this as a fix?
