Does SureSignal v3 require ports to be forwarded to the device

I've been unable to find a clear answer on this. What is the requirement for SureSignal to work :

  1. Is there a need for inbound port forwarding to be set-up to forward to the SureSignal ?
  2. I understand the relevent oubound ports need not be blocked by the routers firewall (which mine isn't) ?
  3. Does SureSignal rely on uPNP to maganeg port forwarding if needed?

I'm currently not able to get it to work correctly so will post on the troubleshooting thread, but would be good to get an definite answer to the above as unfortunatly I do not have access to the router adminsitration to set-up port forwarding - but i do know that no outbound connections are blocked.

Thanks

Anand

Hi Anand,

To answer your questions:-

1). No, no inbound port forwarding is needed.

2). All outbound ports, must be allowed through the router firewall.

The ports that must be open/forwarded are:-

Port Number

8          TCP      UDP

50         TCP      UDP

53         TCP      UDP

67                     UDP

68                     UDP

123                   UDP

500                   UDP

1723     TCP      UDP

4500                 UDP

33434 - 33445    UDP

3). It doesn’t. If you need to set up port forwarding, you can do it manually with the ports listed above.

Cheers,

Andrew
