Does Vodafone Sure Signal ever work for longer then 1 hour?

JoeF2k2

Im having really bad issues lately with my SS V2.

It will go off after 1 hour and will just flash both lights with the red solid power light. No amount of resetting or pulling the plug seems to do anything.

Have done the tracert 212.183.133.177 thing and below are my results.

Hi,

I have tried a different port and no different it will work for so long then juststop working.

Can i ask what trying at a different house will achieve? My interent has been fine so why would it now suddenly affect a sure signal box which had been working fine?

Hi JoeF2K2,

Trying a different connection helps to narrow down possible causes like:

 - Faulty Sure Signal box

 - Changes by your Internet Service provider (ISP)

 - Updates to your router/firewall.

Dave

Not wanting to hijack this thread. I'm having the same issue with my SS. I have to reset (take plug out) everyday without fail.

I'm using Sky broadband fairly sure the connection is stable. It's the latest router as only installed 3 months back.

Sure it's not a firewall issue too as connects as soon as it's restarted

Serial number is 40133466595.

Any help appreciated.

SS about 3 months old, purchased brand new from voda store in Bluewater.

Thanks. Karl

Assume it's timed out...

If you need anything more, please let me know.

Karl.

Hi Karlpestell,

The sure signal needs times below 200ms at each step in the connection in order to avoid timing out.

Looking at your traceroute, you're going over this on quite a few steps, particularly step 10.

You'll need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) with a copy of the traceroute so they can look into what's causing these delays.

Well, i think "touch wood" i am all sorted.

Simply tried a new network cable in the signal box to modem and its not gone off since, well as far as im aware anyway.
