Expectations of Sure signal

I bought a sure signal yesterday - weirdly (or maybe not) I get a good 4G signal in my house, but a rubbish phone signal, which causes lost voice and call cut offs.

I had a few issues setting up, but eventually I got it working by allowing IPSEC.

I get full bars on my HTC ONE - sometimes, and 4 blobs on the IPHONE 4S - usually.

Sometimes, the HTC is down to 1 bar, as it was before the sure signal.

Any ideas?  Do the phones always communicate with the sure signal, or would I only expect a good signal when I'm using it?

If the latter is the case, what happens for incoming calls, if there is 1 bar?

Hi mozza76,

When it comes to using the Sure Signal, you should see full (or almost full) 3G signal when you’re in its range.

As the Sure signal doesn’t support 4G, any 4G services will be from the area around you.

The only time you would really see a poor signal is if you are on a call or using the internet before you come into its range.

As the Sure signal doesn’t support Macro to Femto network handover (it doesn’t pass a call or data connection from the normal network to the Sure Signal), you may sometimes need to put the phone into aeroplane mode and back to stop an active connection preventing the Sure Signal from connecting.

If you see you have only 1 bar when you’re in range, cycle aeroplane mode and it should pick up the Sure Signal.

James

I've cycled to airplane mode and back, and it didn't help.

My iPhone 4S, which has the almost full bars, is one of the guest user phone numbers on the sure signal.
The HTC ONE, which has 1 bar most of the time ( but 4g from the network!!!) is the registered account, which you can't see as a registered phone nmbr online.

Sometimes the sure signal shows a call in action, and the htc goes to full bars for that. Duration...

Hi Mozza76,

I can see everything has updated on the registration so you should now be showing 3G service on all of the phones.

In regards to the HTC, I would try disabling 4G whilst you are at home to see if this offers a more stable connection to the Sure Signal.
