Fading in and out during call

I've just purchased a new SS version 3.

 

During calls a lot of people I'm on the phone with keep saying that I'm going very quiet, fading in and out. 

 

This isn't a microphone problem as it only ever happens on the sure signal.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for posting your results. 

Does this only happen in certain rooms of the house such as when you're upstairs?

 

Does it seem to be any time of the day, or when there's other devices using the Wi-Fi bandwidth?

Hi Ben,

 

I only ever use the SS in one room and I'm always in the same room when using it. usually about 2/3 metres from it. Seems to happen at anytime of the day and there is no one else using the wifi. Do you think it's a bandwidth problem?

Hi @GarethIwanJones

 

Your traceroute looks fine but your ping result was a little high. Please do a few more to see if that was a one off, or if that’s about average.

 

If it remains high, this could be due to a congested router (unlikely if there’s only 1 device connected though), or low quality bandwidth.

Okay i retested and this time got a ping result of 38ms and a jitter result of 3ms.
