Sure signal 3 no 40131577435 registered then deregistered then registered....

Red power light....slowly blinking net white light...no others

BtHomehub 4

7.6 download speed

The rest of the info is double dutch to me but its not meant to be complicated is it? Us non techies seem to be at a disadvantage when trying to get it working!

Yes I have read the previous threads but, like so many people I am fed up with this device....Vodafone promise a plug in solution and it does not deliver. I have been on to the Tech department who have offered basic help but to no avail. It may have helped if they were to offer a replacement but no, you have to buy again. No more I say...I will try and find a network that works in this area

Hi SimonBolton1,

We try and make the tests we need as easy as possible by giving links or exact instructions to follow.

I've given the Sure Signal a resync as that doesn't appear to have been tried yet. Reset the box to pick this up.

  • Remove the Ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • Plug the cable back in.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

If this doesn't work, we;'ll need this information to get a better look for you:

  • Your speed test results, both upload and download. Click here to get these.
  • Your ping test results. Click here to get these
  • Your external IP address. You can get this from here.

We'll also need the results of a traceroute. Just follow the steps below and then copy and paste the results.

On a PC :

  • Click on Start  and select Run
  • Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
  • A black box will appear.
  • In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177    press Enter

On a Mac:

  • Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities)
  • Type traceroute 212.183.133.177 and press Enter

Hi Simon,

Thanks for supplying you results. :Smiling:

Looking at your speedtest results I think I can see the issue. The minimum upload needed for Sure Signal to work is 0.37Mbps. Are you seeing the Sure Signal fail at certain points of the day when congestion on your ISP could lower the speeds at all?

If so your ISP can let you know what sort of options are available to increase your speeds. Everything else from your results check out fine though. :Winking_smiley:

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers, Ben
