First handset connects at 3G, second handset only manages Edge

I have my Blackberry registered as the primary user on my Suresignal. I always obtain a full 3G signal. However, my wife's Blackberry can only attain Edge. I have registered and deregistered several times, she receives texts saying she is out and saying she is back in, but no change in performance. I have just done a speed test and I am getting 20.6 download and 5.61 upload. This has been the case since she first went on Vodafone, about a year ago. We gave up last time, however, she is increasingly needing to use it for work purposes from home and we would really like to get this resolved.

Hi

Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Thanks

Matt

Re: First handset connects at 3G, second handset only manages Edge

Hi, I read the troubleshooting guide before I posted. The suresignal is working - the primary phone connects as 3G. All the lights perform as they should, I have tried resetting it to see if this makes a difference - it doesn't. I have one blackberry next to me showing 3G connection, the other showing Edge. I am 1 metre away from the suresignal. I have turned off the primary phone, so only the second blackberry is connected. Still Edge.

Re: First handset connects at 3G, second handset only manages Edge

Hi NWR

Thank you for your post and a very warm welcome.:smileyhappy:

As the Sure Signal works for one phone and not the other this would point towards the phone.

Please can you advise which model of BlackBerry this is.

Also please can you ensure that the device is running the latest software and that the service books are up to date.

Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Highlight any of the numbers > press the BlackBerry Button then register

So we can check all is present and correct with the Sure Signal at this end please provide your serial number and the results of a speed test.

Let me know how you get on.

Many Thanks
