Hi, we've had a power cut today and now my sure signal isn't being picked up by my phone, it was working fine before the powercut. All I'm getting is the power light on steady, I tried rebooting the router then when internet connection established I pressed the reset button on the sure signal, the second light flashed then all four lights flashed now it's back to just the power light steady. The green light at the back is on and the other one is flashing so it isn't the cable.
Any help gratefully received as I have next to no signal on my phone now.

Hi there trudie4paul,
Hmmm....I'd have thought it would have re-initiated by now.
There have been a few posts about power cuts just lately. If I had your Sure Signal serial number then I could see if it had been flagged for a resync, which is what normally happens following a power cut. Could you let me know the serial number please?
Could you post that and in the meantime reboot your router please? If the reboot doesn't kick it into life then please try resetting your router.
Cheers,
Lee

Hi
Is anyone else having a problem with their VSS in the EX31 area. I have a steady power on light but nothing else. My internet connection is stable. This has happened in the past and resolved itself but it now seems to happen quite frequently and i am getting fed up having to reboot each time. I have rebooted this time with no results. I have the original version of the VSS

Hi
Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?
Thanks

My ISP is BT Connect / BT Business with a static IP address and I've had no problems until this week.
The BT Business Hub router failed, so rather than wasting time phoning BT support I purchased a Belkin N600 router as we really need mobile phone signal at the moment and without sure signal we have minimal reception.
I've setup the new router and everything is working fine in terms of accessing the internet. The new router is assigning an IP address to the Sure Signal, and I get a response if I ping it.
However the only sign of life on the sure signal is a constantly flashing power light - no other lights are lit. I left if for 24 hours and nothing changed. I've just tried restarting both the router and sure signal but still only have the flashing power light.
Can anyone help please? Sure signal serial no is 21227849573

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your posts here.
@ muddy3166, I can see that your Sure Signal updated earlier this morning however, it has been flagged for a re-sync.
I have re-synced this for you now, please give this an hour and let me know how you get on.
@ aking, I can see that your Sure Signal is showing the same message and I have also re-synced your device for you.
As above, please give this an hour and let me know if you see any changes.

Hi,
Got home from work a good 3 hours after your reply and no change I'm afraid - still flashing power light.
Tried following the advice from earlier in thread when it was suggested trying reboot after as re-synch. Waited until all lights flashed and let go of the reset button - the power light went green for a few minutes and is now back to simply flashing again.
Anything else we can try?
Not sure if relevant, but: -
My external fixed ip is 81.149.212.249.
The router is 192.168.1.1 with DHCP on allocating ip addresses on a 'forever' lease
The vss has been allocated 192.168.1.7.
There are only 4 other ip addresses allocated by the router.

Hi aking,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I have checked the IP for you and can see that this is in the range so there is no problem with this.
Looking at the Sure Signal registration I can see that there hasn’t been a connection made since 19/02/2012.
Please can you try to de-register the Sure Signal, leave for 24 hours and then register it again leaving it to go through the initial setup again.
Once done, please let me know how you get on.

Hi,
Ok, tried that and still no change.
I deregistered the VSS on Friday afternoon and switched off when I got home.
On Sunday afternoon I registered the VSS again and switched on.
Still just a flashing power light and nothing else, and that's almost 24 hours since I did this.
What next?

Hi aking,
My apologies for the delay in replying to you however, the posts are working in the order they are made and as such it has taking a little time in replying to you.
Since you have registered the device again it hasn’t connected to our server.
Can you check that all of the ports are open for the Sure Signal to connect through your new router?

All the ports listed were open.
I've now tried moving the VSS to the DMZ so that it is not going through the firewall but no change.

Since I changed ISP my Sure Signal hasn't connected successfully at all - I've tried all of the usual steps including rebooting and resetting the modem. Called support and they've "pushed the profile to the network" but weren't able to tell me if they can see it conencting or much of anything else.
It looks like this is related to the new IP block I'm on as a result of the change in ISP; reading other threads it seems others have had the same problem. The block is part of Goscomb's 46.17.56.0/21 range - can someone check if this is whitelisted at Voadfone's end please?
A tracerout fails after 85.205.116.2 and a packet trace shows that no response is being received to the traffic generated by the Sure Signal.
Many thanks.

Hi Guys,
@ aking, can you try your Sure Signal on a different line (ISP) so we can see if it is an equipment or ISP issue?
@ alperry, I have taken a look at the Sure Signal for you and can see that it hasn’t connected to our server since 23/02/2012 and that it has detected a location change.
Due to this I have updated the location profile for you and also re-synced the Sure Signal from our end.
Please can you let me know your external IP address if you are still experiencing issues.
@ guysmith75,
Looking at the IP range provided it does look like it isn’t on the white list however I have requested for this to be added for you.

Hmm - VSS connected without problem when I plugged into the Draytek router in the office - didn't open ports or make any changes whatsover, simply plugged in. Both home and office connections are BT business internet with fixed ip addresses, so must be the Belkin N600 router.
I've tried both setting the VSS to be in the DMZ which should bypass all firewall issues, or opening the suggested ports and neither works at home. Is there anything else I can try other than replacing the brand new router?
