Congratulations on getting yours working...
I wish it were that simple here. I swapped ethernet cables on the grounds that there was nothing to lose by trying but with both old and new clean plug and play DHCP settings the dreaded flashing power light is still there :-(
Maybe I need to threaten it with being hurled across the room....
I am hoping that a mod will appear on here and let me know if I need to get my static IP un-ignored by the Vodafone infrastructure...
Fingers crossed

Im having issues with my sure signal... it worked fine until about 3 weeks ago when it stopped working and only the power light is on and it was flashing. Having rang customer care I got a replacement sent to me. This then had the power light on solid constantly. I spoke to customer care and forwarded all my ports and the light started to flash.
Its still flashing a week later and I have tried hard resets and everything. please help!!!
P.S. I have a DSL-2640S router and my ISP is sky.

Hi Woody.
Sorry, but your reply is not very helpful. I had already checked the trouble-shooter before posting.
As I said, I can see the at the SS has an IP address. The trouble shooter does not say what to do next.
If reset, it sometimes works for a few minutes then drops off again
Ethernet is showing correct lights
yes I have a net connection
yes, I am rather frustrated by the whole process.

Hi, I have the steady green light problem on my Sure Signal, started about a month ago. I have been through all of your suggestions as per post of 06-10-2010 with no luck. Had the Sure Signal for over a year and has generally worked fine. Changed to a BT Home Hub router two months ago and the Sure Signal connected fine and worked perfectly for a few weeks but now nothing ! It's as if someone out there has flicked a switch !! Any help would be appreciated, without the Sure Signal I have zero coverage at home on Vodafone.
My Sure Signal details are -
serial number 21997026459
MAC - 000E5918F378
BSR FEMTO VODAFONE UK
Sagem
Thanks

I have now switched my BT home hub out for a Netgear D834G, and my VSS is now functioning correctly, no additional configuration required.
BT have contacted me suggesting a full factory reset will respolve the issue however I have not done this as I am just content to have the device working again.
I would still very much like to understand the root cause of these issues.

Hi guys,
As there's a few of you posting here, I'll address you all individually.
FRDriver, can you please let me know what your static IP address is please? I'll be able to flag this up to our engineers to check it's allowed through the firewall.
pst, it sounds like you're affected by the issue being discussed in this thread: Sky MER and Sure Signal. Please take a look at my most recent post in there. If you're still experiencing issues then please reply in that thread.
jemwyatt65, I'll need to take a closer look into this for you. If you reply to the email that I'm just about to send you, then we'll be in touch as soon as we can.
Camoh101, I've sent you an email too, so that we can look into this for you.
Simon_Bown, I'm pleased to hear that your Sure Signal is now working
. It sounds like your original router may not have been configured correctly for it to work.
Kind Regards,
George

OK - I've had the personal e-mail conversation but that seems to have gone a bit quiet now so It's back onto here with my latest status:
Following a hard reset of the VSS I get system and telephone lights flashing for 3 - 4 minutes, then just system light for about a minute, then both lights on and a signal on my telephone for around a minute until both lights start flashing again and I lose my signal again............This sequence then repeats itself over and over.
I can make a call when both lights are on but the call cuts off when they start flashing again.........

Hi mkc0303
how frustrating!
It sounds like you are having a problem with the line speed if it keeps falling over like this.
I would test this by powering down your router and sure signal. disconnecting all PC devices from the router and powering the router back up with just the Sure signal attached (and powered up) once this has come up I would then connect a PC to the Router and test the internet connection by performing the following:
- On a PC :
- Click on Start and select Run
- Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
- A black box will appear.
- In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
- Paste the output of this command into your reply along with a copy of the results from running a speed test
I'm looking forward to seeing your results ![]()
Thanks

Hi Kendo70
I've just performed a resync for our Sure Signal box.
Can you perform a factory reset on the device for me?
to perform a factory reset:
- Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds) keeping the reset button held down.
- Remove then re-insert the power lead.
- Once all lights display release the reset button.
- The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.
·
Please let me know how this goes.
Thanks

Hi mkc0303,
Thanks for posting. Looking at the speedtest and traceroute results, I can't see anything out of the ordinary there. Your upload speed is certainly sufficient for Sure Signal to work correctly. I can see from our email chain that we're currently waiting for an update from our engineers, I'll chase this up for you and let you know when I get a response back.
FRdriver, I've forwarded your IP address onto our engineers to ensure it's allowed through our firewall. I'll let you know when I hear back.

Hello
After months of my sure signal working great on Tuesday my suresignal stopped working and have now only got Steady Power Light No Other Lights Lit.
I do fully understand how SureSignal works and I have tryed reseting the suresignal serveral times but no luck it just stays on Steady Power Light No Other Lights Lit.
As i stated this has worked with no problems for last 8 / 9 months no configuration changes or anything else have been made and there is nothing wrong with my router D-LINK 2680 and D-LINK 2740 which all worked perfect with the suresignal
Below is tracert log

Hi Digicom
I've just looked into this issue for you.
Thanks for the tracert, it does look okay form here I suspect your Sure Signal box may need to be resynced.
I've just resynced the box for you, and would ask you to try performing a factory reset.
·
To factory reset the Sure Signal box:
- Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds) keeping the reset button held down.
- Remove then re-insert the power lead.
- Once all lights display release the reset button. The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.
Please let me know if this fixes your issue.
Thanks

Hello George
Thanks for re resynced but this has not changed anything it is still only has just power light on steady
This has been caused by the software update which was rolled out on 10th may and exterminated my sure signal ![]()
Me thinks i need a new suresignal as ot has been resynced 4 times now this week and has not made any diffrence, is there any chance of getting 1 of the new versions instead of these old models? ![]()
Kind Regards
Digi
