Hi,
I yesterday got a replacement VSS from the local vodafone shop. When i try to register this replacement (serial number 40112850645) I get an error message saying it is already registered to someone else. Can this unit be deregistered?
Only been without a service for a month or so now!
Thanks

Hi,
My router is DGN1000SP and my suresignal number is 21232103248. I've verified all steps and my suresignal has an IP associated by the router. However the power light still keeps flashing - I've reset both a number of times but nothing changes.
Please help.
Thanks

Hi,
I have been a vodafone customer for several years now. I have had my vondafone sure signal device for just over 1 year and when i bought it everything was fine. It has suddenly stopped working up until about 1 month ago! I have contacted your 2nd line support twice and they have not been able to fix anything they have opened the ports. I have factory rested the device. I have contacted the provider. Nothing that I try seems to be working as I do not get any signal in my house I am getting very frustated. I am desperate to get it up and running again. Any help would be very helpful.
Router: Belkin54g
DHCP: Open
UPnP: Enabled
Provdider: TalkTalk
Serial Number: 21197195908
Thanks
Ben

Hi samaymishra, bexiclepop88 and bphillips
Thank you for your posts, I understand your frustration as mobile devices have become such an integral part of everyday lives.
Please could you take a look at the very first post and post your results back here in order for us to investigate.
Please also ensure you reset both your Sure Signal boxes and also your router to ensure they are cleared, even if you have done this before so we can ensure they not conflicting.
Thank you in advance.

I am trying to set up an original SureSignal. I've registered it to my Vodafone account and it is shown as Status: Registered.
When I plug it in, it goes through the following sequence of lights:
- power - steady
- all lights flash in sequence
- power - steady for about 80-90 seconds
- power - flashing
I have followed the steps in the first post. I can see the device getting an IP address from the DHCP server. I can ping it. I can get to the Vodafone's NTP server from another device on the same LAN.
I have rebooted the router, waited, and rebooted SureSignal multiple times.
The serial number of the device is 21227749005.
Please advise.

Hi - My Suresignal which has been working since February 2011 has suddenly stopped working showing steady power light, no other lights lit.
I've reset the router, checked and swapped the network cables - I have full working internet connection, and can even ping the suresignal box so it does have an IP address assigned. I've also and reset the suresignal.

Hi sara_shore,
I can see we resynced your VSS on the 15/10/11. Did you factory reset the unit afterwards? If not, could you do the honours?
- Hold down the reset button till all the lights come on or flash (about 30 seconds)
- Keeping the reset button held, remove and re-insert the power lead
- Release the reset button once all the lights have flashed or come on again
- The VSS should come online within the hour
Kindest regards,
Lee

Hi Lee,
Many thanks, the forced re-sync seems to have done the trick as it's working again. I've not had to do a factory reset even but will do if you still think it's necessary
thanks again

Hi, I have been using my Sure Signal for some time and despite initial set-up difficulties it has been OK except for occaisional router resets.
I have now got a permanent flashing power light - possibly after a power cut.
I have reset the router and can confirm that I have internet access. The Sure Signal is braodcasting its mac address and the router has been checked that the port forwarding settings are still current.
As a last resort I have done a power-down reset on the Sure Signal and although it goes through the four light cycle after the power up the flashing light 1 comes back after after about 5 minutes.
All other computers on the routers have internet access and the comms to the Sure Signal has been checked - even replacing the cable.
Anything else that I can try?

Hello - My Suresignal2 which has been working since August 2011 has now stopped working showing steady power light, no other lights lit.
I've jumped through all the hoops - as per the instructions on this web site. The router detects that the suresignal is connected but still no connection. I understand that trying to get one box to work woth various router makes must be challenging, but looking at all the people who are having problems this looks to me like a product that has not been tested properly before release.
Please remember that people have paid good money to effectively cover diffciencies in Vodafone's network - and it still doesn't work. This box, if anything, should be free.

Hi all.
JimG and villagegossip.
I’ve forced a reset on both of your VSS devices for you.
Can you now please try a factory reset:
- Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 seconds)
- Keeping the reset button held down, remove then re-insert the power lead.
- Once all lights display release the reset button.
- The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.
If you’re still having issues 24 hours after the reset please let me know.

Hi. After my initial troubles (see earlier in thread), my SS worked fine for a while (2 months?). For the last week or so it has been on single red light. I have not changed anything on the router and my ISP is the same. All my other internet devices work fine. The SS is assigned an IP successfully but that's it. Both lights flash for a bit and then just red light. I have tried rebooting the router, the SS and factory resetting the SS.
Help please.

Dear George and anyone else that can help,
I am going slowly mad trying to get my (new) Sure Signal to work with by BT Home Hub 2. I have spent at least 10 hours on the phone to Vodafone/BT and still have had no joy. The current proposal is that they send me a 3rd Suresignal box in the hope that "might" work.
The position is:
- The power light is on. Lights 2 (system) and 3 (phone) flash constantly
- My BT Home Hub 2.0 is otherwise working ok. My line has been checked and my broad conneciton is fast enough
- Both BT and Vodafone staff have remotely accessed my computer to make sure the right ports are open
- I have done more than one "hard reset" of the Suresignal. I have reset the Homehub too. All of this is in line with the advice I've been given from Vodafone
- I have checked the ethernet cable is properly plugged into both the Homehub and the "Router/Modem" socket on the back of the Suresignal. The orange light of the socket is permanently on and the green one flashes.
- The suresignal has been properly registered/activated through the website.
- Having seen some of the posts on this site, I have ensured "port clamping" option is on, having logged into the Homehub Manager page.
This is a new suresignal box as the one before didn't work either. I can't believe I have got 2 "broken" Suresignals in a row so there must be some kind of set up problem somwhere but I am losing what little hair I have left trying to remedy it.
Any help massively appreciated,
Andy
