Hi George,
Sorry I may have missed lead you about the lights on the VSS, the red power light always remains on, it is just the white signal light that flashes for about 10 minutes (after power off and back on again) before going off
I have tried the reset as requested but no change
Here is the output from the traceroute requested:

James/Vodafone support
Having spent another fruitless couple of hours trawling these forums and various other websites for info on what might be wrong and making various changes to which ports are open and other tweaks to my router I give up! I just moved from O2 to a new business contract with Vodafone so I could finally get a signal at home, a move I'm starting to regret...
Having wasted enough time, could you give me details of wifi ADSL routers that you know work (out of the box - no port forwarding problems) so that I can go out and buy one and get on with my life!

Hi
Sure Signal has suddenly stopped working, 0900 today 14th Dec. Internet works fine, solid power light on sure signal, solid light above Ethernet cable and flashing light below. Have switched on and reset twice as per forum advise.
Using BT Home Hub 3, #058720-1109030614
Sure Signal #21229356742

Hey folks,
Thanks for your posts. I'll answer each of you in turn ![]()
@ DRE1975 - There's a working routers list, compiled by our members, here.
@ colinwain - I can see your VSS connected to our servers last night at 21:12. Is your issue now fixed or are you still having problems?
@ merewords - Could you please de-register and re-register the unit? For some reason your VSS hasn't yet connected to our servers and re-registration sometimes fixes this issue. If that doesn't work, could you let me know your external IP adrress?
Cheers all,
Lee

I have a Sure Signal here which had all lights on, but nobody could make a call. Restarted and now just left with a power light, internet is fine. Nothing has changed, hints at a service issue!

As of this morning I have also had no working VSS. I have a flashing power light and no other lights lit. I have done a hard reset and it hasn't worked.
Please advise

Router is a BT Business Hub
Handset is a Galaxy S2
ISP is BT Business unlimited with fixed IP.
Hard reset done. Call to support and they reset their end. Still only 1 green light.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks. Dom.

My VSS has suddenly stopped working - with just the power light on (steady). I've tried rebooting the router and then resetting the VSS, but it hasn't fixed the issue. Any other suggestions?

My POS SureSignal has stopped working as well. I am guessing that Vodafone have bu99ered something up, unless these things are unstable and don't like the cold

my sure signal suddenly stopped working mid morning today as well?
Performed reset, left unplugged, etc, etc but all I can get is a red power light on? The white lights flash for a few minutes and then go out?persistently consistentin it's refusal to work properly. We are in an appalling signal area so rely on suresignal to give us a little reliability!or not!HELP!

My SureSignal has also stopped working today, Serial number 21224476388.
Now just have flashing power light and nothing else. I have tried a factory reset but no success.
Is this a more widespread issue or is there something else to try? I rely on this unit for work so it is very frustrating to have it non functional.
By the way is BenJ still around?
Many Thanks
FRD

It appears to be a Vodafone issue, but they won't acknowledge that for a few weeks.....

Just to reinforce the message. VSS woring perfectly for 12 months and been dead since this morning. Tried all the usual reboots of router and VSS but nothing. Will wait and watch for a while before getting grumpy.

Hi, I've tried the relevant trouble shooting and am still getting the flashing light. All is connected OK, my broadband is working OK and I have the lights on at the side to show that connection is sound. I am using BT Internet with a Home Hub broadband. The serial number of the Sure Signal box is 21227724537. Please help as I get no signal at all without this box. Thanks

Hi Lee,
De-registered and re-registered VSS as requested and reboot VSS but no change, current external IP is 81.134.121.25 (this is negotiated not static)

Hi Lee
I replied to your email on 9th & hadn't heard anything back (possibly because I work nights & am never available at sane hours!), however my Suresignal sprang back into life today & is now seemingly working!
You mentioned that it appeared to be faulty however, do you think this might be something of a final burst of life before it finally dies?? ![]()
Many thanks,
Tom.
