Solution

Gigabit Ethernet and Sure Signal V3

I have a Sure Signal v3.

My router is a Netgear DGND3700v2.

The only Ethernet ports on the router are Gigabit.

Does the Sure Signal work at this speed?

I have a solid red power light.

The yellow Modem/Router port on the Sure Signal has two lights which stay green on the left and flashing amber on the right for about seven seconds before both going out and then repeating.

Any assistance appreciated.

There is a lot of information to collect here, some of it sensitive.

Can you please answer the specific question of which Ethernet LAN speed (10/100/1000) is supported by the Sure Signal v3 and specifically whether 1000 is supported. I cannot see the device acquiring a DHCP IP address? If it is not on the network, all the requested information is unimportant.

All test executed using the same router and ethernet cable that was and is attached to the VSS (except for collecting this data).  My DHCP server (in the router) has the first 11 addresses of the whole octet (255) reserved and the very next one was assigned to the PC when wired to the LAN with the wireless (on the PC) turned off. The VSS does not acquire an address from the DHCP server and does not show as attached through the router GUI.

Any assistance appreciated.

Hi @kbr95

Thanks for getting back to us.

Please can you try another Ethernet cable with your Sure Signal.

If this doesn't work then we'll need to send it off for repair.

Thanks,

Amanda

Thanks for getting back to me. I have tried it with two different cables already, both of which work for other devices at 1000bps but do not work with the VSS. I’m happy to try to install new firmware, if that is an option, but otherwise what do I need to do to get a repair and what is the cost? Thanks, Keith

Hi @kbr95

If the device is under one year old there will be no cost in repairing it.

If it’s older than this, you’ll have to take a look at replacing the Vodafone Sure Signal.

Cheers,

Laura
