Hello,

I am a pay monthly customer with Vodafone and have been for as long as I can remember (number of years). The situation in brief is that I have an iphone 5 that I use for Business and Personal and I struggle to get signal at my home where I also work at times.

I have spoken to vodafone employees about this numerous time over the past 7/8 months and heard numerous varying responses regarding how to fix my signal. Mostly they start with turning the phone on and off again, which, surprisingly isnt very effective. Then after much faffing, they all say that I should but a Vodafone Sure signal.

I agree. But I absolutely resent paying £100 to enhance Vodafones own network. I pay between £65 and £170 - A MONTH - to vodafone in phone bills (high call volume business/International) and all I ask is that I have a phone that makes calls, and a network that connects them. Is that afterall not what Vodafone specialise in?

I find it a complete rip off to have paid what must have been thousands of pounds to vodafone since I was one of thier customers and for them to have the cheek to ask me to pay £100 more becuase they have fallen short on thier part of the deal and their network covereage isnt good enough.. Come on.

Can someone please use a bit of common sense here and get in touch with me regarding how they plan on sending me a Vodafone Sure Signal free of charge so that I CAN KEEP PAYING them HUNDREDS of pounds A MONTH! And please dont suggest that I call customer care or go into one of the shops because I have heard it all before and I have done it all before and I just keep getting bounced around.

Please help me with this because I dont want to have to change but im being backed into a corner here.

Thank you,

Max

The chances of Vodafone giving you a free Sure Signal is very slim. The price they sell them for already represents a loss.

Have you always had a bad signal during all of those years with Vodafone or is it a recent development?

I appreciate that but surely the amount of money I have paid already means their profit made from me, even if they throw in a sure signal for free is exstensive and by doing so they ensure further profit to come.

I have had the issue since I have moved house but I got a new contract after I moved to this location so they were aware of where I was prior to signing the deal and no one said the signal was poor in this area.

Its crazy that they expect people to pay extra to enhance thier network isnt it? Or is this just me thinking this?

I'm not sure crazy is the right word, but if you are in an area of poor signal then the Sure Signal is an excellent device. I have one. The bottom line is this - when you took out the new contract, which is after you moved, you had 7 working days to assess the phone and the signal in your area. If you kept the contract running after that cooling off period has elapsed you cannot get out of the contract until the minimum contract period has expired and you won't get a free Sure Signal.

Hi Jeff,

Thats dissapointing that you say that, I can get out of the contract by paying a lump sum which still means Vodafone will lose out on approximately £50 a month for the next 8 or so (c£400) so its not a smart move on thier part but I dont want to move as they are usually fine.

Plus, I have been told by vodafone employees that I can get a free suresignal, I just havent been able to get hold of the right people as I keep getting bounced around so although they clearly dont like the concept, they must have provisions in place as they have told their staff its possible - no?

Thanks for your replies anyway, I appreciate it.

I would still like somone from Vodafone to contact me about this promptly, pelase.

Thanks

Hi maxroebuck,

Can I take your full postcode so that we can check your coverage and local cell sites?

We'll be unable to provide a free or discounted Sure Signal unfortunately.

Thanks,

Kay
