The only problem is Ben that suresignal phone support and second line support were only to quick to blame this problem stating that we should contact are isp as the problem was being caused by them and not by vodafone even after nearly a week of me telling them otherwise.
Maybe it would be a good idea wen you next have a meeting to bring up a important factor that if there happened to be a simaler problem arises again that the suresignal phone support and second line support should not go blaming the problem on the isps and advised customers to ring there isp and basicly sending them on a wild goose chase when the problem was as i fiest said was with vodafone
I fully understand how suresignal device works and operates alot more than some of the telephone support team do

Lets hope Vodafone can be more upfront if it happens again in the future and accept that there is a network problem rather than immediately blaming the ISP/Internet connection or anything else handy.

I am sure that we all agree with that comment.

Hi Ben
Still no joy here I am afraid. After hard reset eventually settles down to RX/TX on port 4500 and TX on port 500. Light 1 solid and light 2 flashing.

Even mine appears to be working now.
Which would imply that port 4500 UDP isn't actually used...
Fingers crossed this now fixes my orig problem...

@ BenJ
My Sure Signal came back on yesterday however I've been trying to add one of my handsets (that was previously registered to SS before it cut off) but keep getting a pending message so I can't.
Please help!

After having this problem on and off for a few days (especially on the dates mentioned previously) and thinking it was just me, I finally decided to google it and stumbled upon this thread. I too, am having the same issue with the first light solid and the other (internet) light flashing steadily on and off. The ethner activity light is blinking orange too, which shows there's network "talk" as it were.
My Serial number is:21229660671
This is getting ridiculous, because I'm in an area with no signal as it is, and so I effectively have no mobile phone now. If this doesn't get sorted I'll have to take matters even further.
Kris.

Need help with this issue. Have gone through all the diagnostics listed, and am at the step suggesting I change router settings, but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing that, because I have Sky Broadband, and there's no markings on this router to tell me what model it is other than it saying "Netgear", so I can't tell what model's instructions to use on the portforward website.
I -can- log into my router, and I see a settings page that allows me to set up "firewall rules" which I -think- is the right bit... It has two sections where I can add new rules - one called "outbound services' and another called "inbound services" (I'm not sure which one to change)...
When adding a rule, it prompts me to choose a "Service" (not sure what to choose - lists things like TCP, UDP, etc.)
It then prompts me to choose an 'action' - (block always, block by schedule, allow always, allow by schedule) (again, not sure what to choose)
Another box says "LAN users" - single address/address range (which to choose?)
Start (place to enter IP Address)
Finish (place to enter IP address)
WAN users -single address/address range (which to choose)
Start (place to enter IP Address)
Finish (place to enter IP address)
Can anyone tell me how to put the correct values in these boxes?
Thanks...

If you go into your router page it will tell you what model your netgear is

hi,
my suresignal is showing first light constant and the second light is flashing slowly; no other lights are showing.
I have a BT router model ref 'BT Home Hub 2.0' Version 2.0 Type A
I have checked my registration and it is ok
I received a text message on my phone to confirm that the Suresignal was 'ready to use' on Wednesday15th Dec
Please advise

Hi Ben, my Suresignal has not worked for about 4 days. I have tried re-setting it and changing my router settings but still nothing.
I have a BT Homehub 2 and my serial number for the Suresignal is 21196945212
Many Thanks

Hi. I have been having problems on and off all month now. I've had the Sure Signal for 18 months and when it works it's great but when it doesn't it hugely frustrating and that seems to be happening more and more of late! I've tried everything over the last 24 hours but nothing is working and I'm still left with light 1 on and light 2 flashing. Could you let me know if there is any maintenance in the EX6 area at the moment please?
Regards

I have a DLink DIR 615.
I've set a static IP.
I've set port forwarding.
I've set firewall rules for the Vodafone IP ranges.
(NB In any case, I don't get why this is necessary as I understand that on my Virgin broadband with this router, all ports are open by default?)
Nonetheless, still nothing.
If I get one more Vodafone call centre "tech" person asking me to (a) register the device, (b) reboot the device or (c) cycle the device using the reset button, I'm going to chuck the thing out of the window along with my phone that can't receive signal, whereupon I will cancel my direct debit.
Please advise on next steps before I loose my grip on reality. Please.
Thanks.

Welcome to the club HighHat join the club!
I really dont belive Vodafone SureSignal support after same thing happened last week they havent learnt a thing as for last 3hrs i had numerous conversations on phone to SS tech team and they still saying this is caused by my isp or i have port issues, one even advised me to take my suresignal and plug it in at diffrent location and use a diffrent isp
George or another member of staff i would apprciate it if you could please get this problem marked as a priority and looked at by someone who knows wat there doing and understand that this is same problem that we had last week and has returned
Bbecause i may aswell record myself and play it back to tech support as all i keep doing is repeating myself over, and over again to them but they not listening to me!

Also, do I really need to set up rules for all of those addresses? That's 4 ports x 3 address ranges = 12 rules (twice, if I have to set this bidirectionally).
I only have 40-odd rules available to me on the router.
Every time you add a server, will I have to add another rule??
Nonetheless, still nothing.
