New Sure Signal User's Can't Connect

Hi, hope someone can help!

I finally managed to register my users yesterday for the Sure Signal (website wasn't working but that's another story).

They all received the text messages saying they could use the device.

The problem is that I'm the only one who is able to connect to it (the device is registered against my mobile number).

All users trying to connect are using iPhone 4's with 3g enabled, and as above they have all received the text message.

I've tried rebooting the Sure Signal and the users phones but neither has made any difference.

Please help!

Re: New Sure Signal User's Can't Connect

Hi

Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Thanks

Matt

Yep, looked in there I'm afraid.

It's got info if no one can connect, but I'm connected fine and am getting full 3G signal.

New user added - Calls won't connect

I have added a new user to my sure signal and they get a full 3G signal but no calls will connect.

The phone displays connecting and then just ends (my phone is connected to the sure signal and works fine).

I spent half an hour on the phone to 'technical support' yesterday and they went through restarting phone, sim registering etc before removing the user and saying to try again in a few hours.

I tried again late last night and still this morning it won't work.

An update...

My issue seems to have fixed itself now, it's taken a couple of days but calls will now connect on the additional user's phone.

Re: New user added - Calls won't connect

Mine now seems to be sorted as well.

All registered users this morning are getting fill 3G signal and are able to use the Sure Signal.

Wonder what was going on behind the scenes...

Re: New user added - Calls won't connect

Hi,

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I have a strange issue: my friend and I are using the same Sure Signal, so he registered my number too, and I was able to make some calls and what not. Then I went away for 2 weeks, and now when I get back I can't connect to the SureSignal. Phone is on 3G, but it doesn't show any bars, there is no coverage whatsoever. We already tried rebooting the suresignal, deleted and re-added my phone number, still no success.

The same phone works fine with my friend's SIM-card (he is the administrator of the device) without changing anything...

Thank you for your help,

Dtomcs92

Hi there Dtomcs92,

Thanks for your post.

Can you confirm that 3G is enabled on the device?

Thanks,

LeeH

Yes, it is a Nokia E51, 3G is enabled. The same phone with my friend's SIM card (which has the SureSignal registered to it) with the same settings works fine.

Re: New user added - Calls won't connect

Hi there dtomcs92,

Thanks for confirming this for me. This is very curious.

Could you try swapping the SIM cards around to see if the problem persists?

Could you also let me know the serial number for the VSS you're having trouble connecting two and how many users are registered?

Cheers,

LeeH

[ Edited ]

Hi,

Yeah, swapping the SIM cards (meaning using my friend's SIM card in my E51) works, but I would like to have my SIM card working with my phone.

The serial is: 21197129964

Thank you,

dtomcs92

btw: I have tried to de-register and re-register my number with the Sure Signal, but it didn't change anything. How much time does such a change require usually to go through? Right now the Sure Signal isn't plugged in, because it makes no use for me, but if let's say it takes 1-2 hours for it to pull the registration data from the Vodafone servers I can let it be plugged in for some time to see if it makes any difference.

Re: New user added - Calls won't connect

Hi dtomcs92,

Thanks for your post here.

Before I re-sync your Sure Signal we will need the unit to be plugged in and connected.

Please can you do this and let me know once it is powered on and I can then re-sync the unit for you.

Re: New user added - Calls won't connect

Hi James!

Thanks for your help, somehow the problem solved itself. Now the unit is now plugged in, and connected to the network, as far as I can tell, all the lights except the phone-icon light are green and both my phone and my friend's phone are able to connect and make calls.

Thank you again,

dtomcs92
