New VSS v3 unable to connect

jgroarke_uk

Hi

I have just installed a new VSS v3 and unable to connect. Red light flashing and the light on left hand side is constant orange.  I have checked all particulars on similar threads, but cannot get it to work.  I think the key thing is the trace route which gets stuck at a certain point.  I am using talk talk service, following is relevant information.  Please advise what the issue could be so I can diagnose further, is the service currently up?

Speed Test

----------

ping 45ms

Download 8.01 mbps

Hi jgroarke_uk

Thanks for your post.

Your IP is on the whitelist and your speed/ping tests are fine.

The Sure Signal is reaching us as the last IP verifies its Vodafone.

I see what you mean though about hops 2 and 3. There is some latency there but providing it’s under 200 ms it still shouldn’t cause an issue.

The reason you get that light sequence is because the Sure Signal isn't active and it has been unable to authenticate on the Vodafone network.

I’ve resynced it for you and it’ll need a factory reset to complete as follows:

For Sure Signal version 3:

  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports.
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds.
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around 1 hour.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks

Simon
