Having the same problems here with a One X. I'm trying the transfer to another owner approach - fortunately my wife has a VF contract. I have successfully transferred the ownership to her and it's appearing in her account. BUT when trying to delete or alter my user data from the service we get an error - try again later message. Arrrgh. (Serial. 21227760341)

Phone is now working - new SIM wasnt sent and should have been arriving tomorrow - however having arrived home, my phone instantly connected to SS box - didnt have to do anything. So if its any help to anyone, I got my One X on Sat 7th and registered SIM card about 6pm - so 4 days to get the problem sorted, however it has been been fixed, I'm glad its now connecting with SS.

Thanks for your reports of problems with the One X and VSS.
These reports are in their infancy and we're currently investigating so I can't give you any information about a fix, sorry.
@ DannyB - Any 3G capable devices will work with the VSS. I know you're having issues with your HTC and appreciate my comment might not be welcomed, but as long as 3G is enabled on the phone then there shouldn't be a problem.
@ redsquirrel - I've just added the number ending 383 to the VSS. Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you.
@ philsull - Let me know how you get on with the change of owner workaround.
If I need further examples then I'll come back to you, guys.

* I transferred ownership to my wife's account. It successfully registered but I was unable to delete or edit my registered number, just got not available try later type messages.
* I then de-registered the unit and then re-registered it back on to MY account then giving it full reset.
* I received all the registration success messages/emails then about an hour later after all the flashy lights etc. It came back up and my one x was connected.
* The log now shows my handset tel no. twice and my wife's number I had entered after re-registration.
My take is that the sure signal records the phone number against the serial of the sim so when it's faced with same tel number but different serial it sulks. Because my account then held the new micro sim serial, on re-reg to my account the ss used that one. It would appear that maybe a admin alteration or full wipe of the box would do the trick (albeit a pain to register the numbers again)

@Lee (Part 2) - I cannot seem to edit my last post so have to append again. My HTC One has 3G enabled and when at work (which has a VF mast very close by) I get a really strong 3G signal. However, when at home it still does not connect to the SS and I get avery patchy 2G signal only.
Whatever this problem is, it is not as simple as the phone not being capable of a 3G connection.
Common factor seems to be people keeping the same number but getting swapped to a new micro-SIM.

Got my One X today as an upgrade from my trusty Nexus One, but it won't connect to any Sure Signals.
I've got a SS at work and another SS at home and it won't connect to either. I've tried resetting the SS, transferring ownership of the SS, unregistering and reregistering and restarting SS and device and nothing.
So at the moment, the two places I spend most of my time, I get 'G' at best, very often no signal at all, hence have the SS.
Has anyone else got their One X working with their SS?
Just as an FYI - It's the same number, but a new SIM. Not that that should make a difference, as it's the number that's registered.

Would appreciate a fix, as I'm in the 7 day cooling off period and phone will be returned if I can't register with the SS's, as I won't be able to use the phone due to poor network coverage.
I feel harsh, but it's true. Soz.

But the SIMs also have serial numbers (you had to enter it to transfer your number) and I have the same phone number TWICE on the same VSS (now working with One X and new micro SIM) so it must differentiate between individual SIMs, if not just for security reasons. We don't see that information on our 'customer' web interface.

Same problem here with a new upgrade to an HTC One X. Have kept the same number, and have tried de-registering and re-registering with no joy.
My Samsung Galaxy S II is working without problems on the same Sure Signal box with no issues.
Sure Signal serial number is 40111133282.

Thanks for your posts.
@ WannabeMKII - I have forced a resync for you. Please could you factory reset both devices and let me know how you get on?
- Hold down the reset button till all the lights come on or flash (about 30 seconds)
- Keeping the rest button held, remove and re-insert the power lead
- Once all the lights come on, release the reset button
- The VSS should come online within the hour
@ ncoathup - Are you the owner of the VSS - as in the primary number?
If so then could you try the following for me if you've upgraded and had to swap SIMs:
Has Your SIM recently been replaced?
When a SIM change is performed it can take up to 2 hours for the Sure Signal system to recognise the change, during this period you won't be able to pick up any signal from the Sure Signal. If you still experience issues after this time then you'll need to remove the affected number from your Sure Signal and then add it back on, this can be done via My Account.
If the affected number is the owner of the Sure Signal, you'll need to temporarily transfer the ownership to another number in order to remove/re-add the affected number. This can be done by clicking Change Owner on the Sure Signal Dashboard. The new owner will then need to login to their My Account profile and accept the ownership request, before removing and re-adding the number. Once this has been completed then the ownership can be transferred back to the original number.

Please can you add another one to the list. VSS serial number 21229609819. I've tried all the things suggested in previous posts, but nothing has worked yet.

I have re-synced your Sure Signal for you this morning; please can you give this an hour and let me know if you notice a difference.
If not please let me know so that we can get this flagged with our support teams for you.
However, as we don’t have the phone in the office can I ask if there is an option for 3G only on the phone?
If yes, please can you try to activate this and test it? It’s a bit of a long shot but always worth a try.

Thanks for your help James. Unfortunately the VSS box is still in limbo since the factory reset (light 1 solid, light 2 flashing). From previous experience this usually means that it can't connect/or is not recognised by the hosting VSS servers at Vodafone's end.
I guess I'm not going to know if my One X will connect to the VSS until it's working again. The phone works fine in decent signal areas.
