Hi

The lights on My VSS vary from time to time , but I VERY VERY VERY Rarely get a user light to show That Im using It ?

I am the only V registered user in my house trying to use it

I have even tried to register myself as a new user , but my Vodafone website wont let me , as it says I am already , but My VSS doesnt show me using it , NOR do i have a decent signal in my house , (Hence the reason for buying the SS )

Can you advise ?

Cheers

George

Hi georged22,

Everything looks fine with the tests you’ve done and the registration.

What phone are you using with the Sure Signal?

What software is it running?

On your router, are there any options for “VPN Passthrough that you can enable?

Hi James / Tech Team

I have got an iPhone 5s..

my computer is running Windows Vista

My Router is a sky Sagem 2504 , and i now believe after doing some checks on the internet , has difficulties with its VPN passthrough . as its not an easy thing to do

and as I said above , Im just an ordinary fella with no great depth of computer / tech / IT skills, so am struggling to find out how to do it

PS, my user light came on twice today , for about 30 seconds each time

Many Thanks

George

Hi georged22,

Thanks for getting back to me.

I’ve done a little digging around online and I can see a few people complaining about this router when it comes to VPN connections.

To see if this is where the problem lies, are you can able to try the Sure signal on a different internet connection at a friends or neighbours house?

Hi James/ Tech Team

I have now tried this at a friends house , using their Linksys WRT12ON Router

and the VSS Seemed to be working

Can you now advise me on the next step ?

Hi georged22

Thanks for coming back to us. Was your friends ISP the same as yours?

Can you check you have the following ports open?

  • 8 - TCP/UDP
  • 50 - TCP/UDP
  • 123 - UDP
  • 4500 - UDP

Thanks
