Hi

I have been trying to get this working for weeks. Already had one attempt at reset which failed.

No changes in ISP, or in router. It just stopped working when I was away in July. Ping, upload and download all within correct limits.

Serial number 40110705569

Please reset.

Hi there PaulRed,

Thanks for posting.

I've forced the resync for you.

If this doesn't fix it, please post the following details:

Your speed test results from here.
Your ping test results from here.
Your external IP address from here.
The results of a traceroute.

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:
Click on Start and select Run
Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
A black box will appear.
In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
Paste the output of this command into your reply.

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Cheers

LeeH

Sadly not working. Ping 39ms. Download 5.0M Upload 0.38M. Jitter 3ms

IP 80.229.144.185

Phone technical support  asked me to check with ISP about blocking ports. They do not. Nothing has changed on IP address, router, ISP or anything.

There have been 3 or four attempts at this and it still does not work. Before this it worked for 2 years. I repeat nothing has changed on IP address, router, router configuration etc.

Unless this gets sorted I'm cancelling my Vodafone contract as my phone is unusable at home - whereas my wife is on O2 which has better coverage.

What is the next suggestion?

Hi PaulRed,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Everything is fine with the tests that you’ve done although the registration hasn’t updated in a couple of days.

Who is your internet provider?

Also, would you be able to test this on a different internet connection to rule out a box fault?

James

ISP is Plus.net (part of BT).

I do not think I can try another ISP but will speak to a neighbour.

Thanks PaulRed,

You need only test another ISP for an hour or two on a friend, relative or neighbours connection. Ideally, if you can test it on a none Plus.net connection too, that would be ideal. We look forward to your reply. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

OK, this is now working.

Steps I did: took to neighbours, plugged in, reset. Within an hour or two this connected.

Took home, plugged in, did not reset. Made no configuration changes to router.

Initial had system light flashing, phone light off, then after about 15 minutes system light steady, all working.

Remember I'd already tried multiple resets when at home in exactly the same way.

My guess is that something in the protocol it follows when resetting is more specific to some aspect of the router config. I stress I had made no configuration changes to router and it had been working for about 2 years before now. It is a pretty standard router (Netgear DGND3700v2), ISP is plus.net.

Vodafone - be helpful if you could comment on this.

Hi PaulRed,

It’s great news that your Sure Signal is now working for you.

It looks like the Sure Signal updated when it was at your neighbours, which then allowed it to connect to our servers when you returned home.

Cheers,

Andrew
