Solution

Problem with VSS3 and TP-Link Archer VR900

My VSS3 no longer connects after I replaced my Billion router with a TP-Link Archer VR900.

The page showing the light symptoms appears to not exist any longer. http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Archive/Version-3-VSS-Lights-Power-flashing-Internet-off-In-Service/t...

Can anyone help? Anyone using a VSS3 successfully on a VR900?

The VSS has a reserved IP address, it is pingable even in the state above. The VSS is also the DMZ host on the router and my firewall is currently turned off (during troubleshooting)

Please help,

Stuart

Hi there

Please go through the Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread and click on the Issue not listed option.  That will provide you with additional troubleshooting and information you need to post back here for the eForum Team to look into.

just did - but what do the lights mean?

I seem to recall that it indicates that the device hasn't been able to authenticate on Vodafone's network.

so how do I proceed?

I have no ports forwarded, I didnt on my previous router either, and that one worked...

One of the eForum Team will be along as soon as they can to look into this further.

I have a feeling that the VR900's ability to create and terminate VPN connections may be getting in the way.

Are there any options in/around the Advanced -> Network that allow you to either turn the IPSEC VPN service off, or enable passthrough?

IPSec VPNs arent created - but there is no option at least in the GUI to turn off IPSec.

The Billion also had IPSec capability which was not configured either - in both routers I have just put the VSS in as the DMZ host - Billion works, Archer not.

Thanks for your reply,

Stuart
