I too have the same problem this morning... Obviously something wrong on the Vodafone network... Several clients complaining that they were unable to contact me this morning.. Had to switch my phone to GSM to receive a call !

Fed up of this now... !

Re: S2 losing connectivity to Sure Signal Box

Hi folks,

I've been made aware that some Sure Signal users will need to restart their units after an upgrade that was performed yesterday/last night on 17th July.

• Reboot your Router / Modem
Turn off your Router or Modem at the wall for 10 seconds, then turn it back on. Wait for the lights on your Modem/Router to indicate an internet connection has been established, and then press the Reset button on the Sure Signal.

• Factory Reset

Hold down the reset button until all the lights show (about 30 secs) keeping the reset button held down, remove then reinsert the power lead, once all lights display release the reset button. The Sure signal will come online in around 1 hour maximum.

Please let me know if you're still experiencing issues after following these instructions.

Cheers, Ben

Re: S2 losing connectivity to Sure Signal Box

Unfortunately Ben, your suggested fix of rebooting / factory reset does not work.

I have done both twice !

It appears from other forum threads this morning that the problem is widespread.

I suggest that your Tech Services dept back out the change from last night and put the boxes back to

the software version they were on yesterday.

They should also test any updates thoroughly prior to rolling it out on a live system !

Re: S2 losing connectivity to Sure Signal Box

Woke up this morning and phone disconnected from Sure Signal again.

So the update rolled out the other day has not solved the problem - if it was even supposed to.

Please Vodafone will you now fix this problem. It has gone on for too long now.

Re: S2 losing connectivity to Sure Signal Box

Hi simonb007 and tonytango

Thank you for your posts.

I have checked the devices and they have both connected recently, has this been reflected on your devices?

I understand that this is frustrating for you.

Please can you check the light sequence and follow the appropriate Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread.

Many Thanks

Re: S2 losing connectivity to Sure Signal Box

Hi tonytango,

Thank you for getting back to us.

The difficulty that we have is that this is not happening on every Samsung Galaxy S2, note or S3 and there are only a very small amount of people affected by this in this thread which is why it is so difficult to pinpoint where the issue lies.

Due to this it is possible that it is something on the broadband side of things that is causing the issue and this is also backed up by the number of exchanges that I believe that you have had with the Sure Signal.

Unfortunately the only thing that we can do at this moment in time would be to get this raised again to our Sure signal support teams for investigation.

So I can do this I have sent you another PM, please follow the instructions as before and we can get the details raised on a case for you.

In the meantime, please can you try the Sure Signal on a different connection if possible for a couple of hours to see if the connection still drops as this will rule out anything to do with the ISP.

You can find your PM inbox here.

James

Re: S2 losing connectivity to Sure Signal Box

I am still suffering with my SS Box.

It was working for about 24 hours, connecting almost straight away when in range of the box.

Now it has gone back to the usual switch to flight mode and back to get a connection.

I just wish you would sort this out. A few months ago, this was not happening. Obviously a software update was sent out

that has caused this and yet no one at Vodafone will recognise it.

Taking my suresignal to another location will not assist. I need it to work at my home, otherwise there is no point having it.

My broadband connection is rock solid. I use VPN's through it all day long without any issues.

I will restate the problem just in case things have got a little muddied...

Up until a few months ago, my Samsung S2 would connect my SS Box as soon as I entered my flat. It would remain connected for the duration of the time I was there. Clearly a patch / update was sent out which changed the behavior of the box, as my phone would no longer automatically connect. I  found the way to get it to connect would be to switch the phone between GSM and WCDMA. Other's have suggested going into Flight mode and out again or switch the phone off and on.

Several other users have also complained about the problem in this thread.

Nothing has changed with my hardware setup / broadband connection at home.

I would appreciate you putting the ball back in the court of your support team.  It is unfair to say a small group of users are affected. Looking through the Suresignal Forums, it seems HTC One X users have similar problems.

http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Vodafone-Sure-Signal/htc-ons-s-will-not-connect-to-sure-signal/td-p/1...

Please can this be expediated now, as it has gone on for far too long.

Many thanks

Re: S2 losing connectivity to Sure Signal Box

Hi simonb007

Thank you for your post.:smileyhappy:

We only ask for you to try the device at another location so we can check if it is the device at fault.

James has raised this using the information from tonytango and as soon as there are any updates these will be posted here.

Many Thanks
