Hi ollason,

While we don't support third party hardware, you'll find some really useful guides for this here. :Winking_smiley:

Cheers, Ben

Hi.  Yes I've looked there but can't find anything related to the Sky Hub.

Hi Ollason,

You'd need to check with the provider - in this case Sky - to get the directions on how to set port forwarding. As Ben_H mentioned, we don't have the directions for individual third party routers and hubs.

Just to be sure you have it, here is the list of hubs to ensure are open for forwarding. These are generally set up out of the box if UPnP (Universal Plug & Play) is switched on.

If you can also confirm a few othe4r details, we can see if there's anything else which might cause issues for you:

  • The light sequence you're seeing
  • Your Sure signal serial number
  • Your speed test results from here.
  • Your ping test results from here.
  • Your external IP address from here.

We'd also need the results of a traceroute:

On a PC

  • Click on Start and select Run
  • Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
  • A black box will appear.
  • In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
  • Paste the output of this command into your reply.

On a Mac

  • Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities)
  • Type traceroute 212.183.133.177 and press Enter
  • Paste the output of this command into your reply.

Hi ollason,

This looks to be Sure Signal firmware related.

I’ve asked for this to be pushed out to you, please leave the Sure Signal switched on and connected over the next 24 hours.

James

Thank you. This now appears to be resolved.

@lissacoffey

We're unable to provide support on how to open ports on your router ourselves, but the information can be found on externally.

The following must be open;

  • 50 (TCP & UDP)
  • 53  (TCP & UDP)
  • 67 (UDP)
  • 68 (UDP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 500 (UDP)
  • 1723 (TCP & UDP)
  • 4500 (UDP)
  • 33434 - 33445 (UDP)

IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall

  • 183.133.177-179
  • 183.133.181-182
  • 183.131.128-191

Once the above steps have been followed please perform a reset:

  • Unplug the ethernet cable from the Sure Signal
  • Locate the button on the base of the box next to the Ethernet ports
  • Press and hold the button for approximately 30 seconds
  • Once the lights come back on, release the button
  • Plug the cable back in
  • Allow around one hour for the Sure Signal to come back online.

or for version three devices (the plug in one);

Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds to factory reset the device. This will trigger the software reload and profile sync.
