Solution

SS V2 - System Light and Phone flashing continually.

welsh_sponger
4: Newbie

Dear Support,

My SureSignal V2 has the system and phone light flashing.

I recieved a email from Vodafone 2 weeks ago telling me that suresignal will be deactivated after not being used. We have been using it fine up till this point.

We changed broadband providers a few weeks before, maybe that has casued an issue?

Anyway, I re-registeterd the sure signal, and its status shows as active.

Ive reset the device, rebooted the broadband router, but still the same symptons after over 72 hours.

Many thanks
Ben

Hi welsh_sponger,

Your IP address is fine.

The Sure Signal hasn't made contact with our servers since 28 August.

Please try a different Ethernet cable.

Also, manually configure your router to allow port-forwarding.

You can find out how to do that here.

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

I setup the port forwarding and also tried a different router, but no joy.

I talked to my ISP last night who said maybe the line was noisy, and so i have replaced the filter.

Any contact made by my sure signal at your end please?

Thanks
Ben

Hi welsh_sponger,

I can see that your Sure Signal contacted the server yesterday afternoon.

If you're still having issues, please deregister your Sure Signal.

You can find out how to do that here.

Once you've done that, please register it once again.

Thanks,

Ian

HI Ian,

Any more contact from my box?

I deregistered and reregisted, but still flashing away :Smiling:

Thanks
Ben

Hi Ben,

It still hasn't made contact, but thanks for trying.

I recommend trying the Sure Signal at a different address, with a different ISP,

Thanks,

Ian

Hi Ian,

I'm not sure on the solution, but its now working.

I took the SureSignal to another location but it still didnt work.

I then went back and did all the troublshooting recommendations again, and then reset the router.

Now it is working.

Thanks
Ben
