Hi @podger

From the light sequence you’ve posted, your Sure Signal is trying to configure itself.

If it’s not working yet, please take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread.

If this doesn’t resolve your query, please post your reply either below, or in the relevant thread, together with the details requested, including the following information:

Your external IP address from here.

Your Sure Signal serial number:

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Thanks,

Gemma

Hi Gemma,

Thanks for the response.

Hi @podger

I can see you’re de-registered and re-registered this since your last post – how are you getting on now?

If you’re still having problems, please try a different Ethernet cable.

I also recommend you try the following:

Manually configure your router to allow port-forwarding:

In most cases, routers support a system called Universal Plug-n-Play (UPnP), which sets up port-forwarding for you automatically. If you’ve got a complicated network setup, or a complex router, you may need to enter these settings manually.

Please see the following for a list of IP addresses and port numbers that need to be forwarded to your Sure Signal's internal IP address. For instructions on how to do this, we recommend you contact your ISP or Router Manufacturer, or refer to the default guide for your particular make and model, over at http://portforward.com.

IP addresses to be allowed on the router & firewall:

  • 183.133.177-179
  • 183.133.181-182
  • 183.131.128-191

Ports and Protocols:

  • 8 (TCP & UDP)
  • 50 (TCP & UDP)
  • 53  (TCP & UDP)
  • 67 (UDP)
  • 68 (UDP)
  • 123 (UDP)
  • 500 (UDP)
  • 1723 (TCP & UDP)
  • 4500 (UDP)
  • 33434 - 33445 (UDP)

In your router settings, check that VPN is ticked (this may say ‘allow VPN traffic on other router settings’).

Thanks,

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I tried all of the port forwarding configs and also tried port clamping but no luck.

Have de-registered and re-registered but that didn't help either.

Any other ideas?

Kenny

Hi Kenny,

Could you let us know if you've tried an alternative Ethernet cable?

If you have, please try the Sure Signal in an alternative address as this will help rule out any hardware issue.

Thanks,

Matt B

Matt,

Yes, ethernet cable is fine.

The SS actually came online last night and i had a full 3G signal without me doing anything.     Didn't last long though as it died again this morning and has not returned.

Suggestions?

Hi @podger

Try the Sure Signal at a different location, with another ISP.

This will help us rule out an issue with the Sure Signal.

Thanks,

Ian
