SS1 Appears OK, but no 3G for any of our handsets?

I have a SS1. I'm looking at it now, and everything looks good - Lights 1, 2 and 4 are solid on. When I look at its status in my account, it shows status as active with a registration date of dec 2010. I've been using it succesfully since that date until a day or so ago - suddenly our handsets (mine and my wifes which are the only registered users) have stopped connecting at 3G. The signal without Sure Signal is very poor here, so I'm really struggling now!

I have tried:

-Restarting the Sure Signal

-Checking Phone has 3G enabled

-Restarting Sure SIgnal with reset button held down (until all 4 lights blink)

All to no avail - every time the SS comes back to what appears to be the active status, but no 3G!

One other point - I received the "Please Verify the Location of your Sure Signal" email this morning (although we haven't moved or changed Broadband providers...). I went in and re-entered my postcode - no difference...

If it's of any significance our Broadband Provider is O2 (soon to become Sky as they ahve bought out O2 broadband) - and we have an old O2 Wireless Box II (TG585v7)

Any ideas what is going wrong here?

Hi dedmonst,

If the lights are all lit correctly then we know it’s not a setup issues.

Can you confirm the Sure signal serial number so I can check the registration?

Also, what phones are you using with the Sure Signal?

James

Thanks James, the SS serial number is 21229340670.

The phones are an iPhone 3GS and (embarassing we will be getting rid soon!)  a HP Palm Pre 2. Both have 3G enabled.

I was just about to post the following to the specific troubleshooting thread on this issue:

*Check that the phone you’re using works on 3G* - it's an iPhone 3GS - 3G is turned on - it works fine when I go into a strong signal area about a mile from my home.

*Test your SIM in another 3G phone.* - tried a neighbours samsung Galaxy - no 3G, he puts his O2 SIM back in and he gets 3G.

*Has Your SIM recently been replaced?* - No _However_ I have ordered and received a new Nano-SIM as I am intending to buy a iPhone 5S if/when they are available later this month. But the nano-Sim is still sat here in its original packaging and I haven't used it. My normal old SIM is still working fine for everything except the Sure Signal. Also my wife's 3G phone doesn't work either.

Hi dedmonst,

Everything is fine with your traceroute.

I've done a resync for you, please reset the Sure Signal to make sure this completes;

-Hold in the reset button until all lights go solid

-Pull the power lead out with the reset button still pushed in

-Continue to hold down the reset button and reconnect the power lead

-Wait for all lights to come on and then release the reset button

Let me know how you get on,

Kay

Thanks Kay, have done as asked.... I now have lights 1 and 2 solid on for 10 minutes, but light 4 hasn't come on yet - I'm guessing I am waiting for registration to complete? up to 24 hours?

Hey dedmonst,

Thanks for posting again.

The reset should enable the VSS to be online in about an hour.

How are you getting on?

Cheers,

LeeH
