"26/1/2012: I have received a new SS which is now working after a couple of days of plugging it in. 40114614023"
Well, that was short lived. The new one decided not to work after a few weeks, even though nothing changed at my end. Have been trying to get it to reconnect the last few days. Even with the router firewall completely off, it doesn't want to know. Occassionally flashes as if trying, but gives up.

Hi, I am trying to set-up a new Sure Signal and only getting to the steady power light stage. Router is a Buffalo WBMR-G54. ISP is Vispa. VSS serial number is 40114242858. The VSS appears to be registered correctly. Based on suggestions within the forum I have attempted to open ports 4500 etc. but I'm not sure whether this worked. I've also attempted to enable uPnP. Obviously I've tried re-booting both the router and VSS multiple times. I belive that DHCP is enabled but there is nothing in the DHCP Client List that looks like the VSS. I've also run tracert and attach the output.
I'd appreciate any further guidance you can give.

I have an iMac connected to a Linksys WRT54G2 wireless router. I have connected all of the various Suresignal cables as instructed - rebooted everyting several times, reset the system all to no avail. All four lights on the rear of the unit are on with the green ones flashing intermittently. All the Suresignal has is two flashing lights and a constant power on light.
My broadband is through Virgin media cable.
The serial number of the Suresignal is 40111632200
I am not a techie so won't have any chance of messing with IP addresses, MAC filters etc etc
Please help as I have poor signal and am losing my mind with frustration...

Hi Guys,
@ kferriday, I have taken a look at your Sure signal for you and can see that there has been a location move detected.
If this has moved please log in to your online account and update the postcode, if this hasn’t changed please log into the online account, change the postcode to a different one and then change this back.
Once done we can then re-sync the device for you which should get it back up and running.
@ charlesr, I have taken a look at your serial number and the registration for you and can see that everything looks fine at our end however, it hasn’t made a connection since 21/02/2012.
I have re-synced the Sure Signal for you today; please can you reset your router and the Sure Signal and let me know how you get on.
@ Mercurius, I have taken a look at your Sure signal and can see that there is yet to be a connection to the server from your Sure signal.
Looking at the trace route provided I can see that it is reaching our sever but not connecting which means that something is preventing the Sure Signal from creating a VPN connection to connect to the server.
To identify what is causing this please can you let me know the results of the following;
@ Daver1, The symptoms that you have described suggest that the Sure signal is still downloading the profile, can I ask if this is now working as it is showing as making a connection earlier this afternoon.
James

George
I use the follow service provider www.nwewn.com/. They are a wirless provider as I live in the country with no phone line broadband. I have done a test to check connection please find attached results, should I be able to get it with these results. Also I have attached my Belkin router status to see if it needs changing.
SS Serial No. 40110914492

Hi James
I have no lights showing other than the power light constantly on. I haven't touched it since making my post so no change noted. All the lights on the back of the unit are still on (where the cables plus in).

Hi James,
I have the following problem, and need to know what the solution is as soon as possible as the sure signal is needed to work properly for working at home.
I have registered the sure signal box and have received e-mail notification that my sure signal is now ready to use on the 21st feb 2012, but I still cant use it.
I have rebooted my router and also the Sure Siganl, but no success, I just get the red power light, and the 2 ready and phones lights flashing, which then dissapear and leave me with a red power light. DHCP is enabled.
Details of my router and sure signal as follows.
Sure Signal
Model No: 9361HomeCell V2-V
Part No: 3JR09110ABBA
SERIAL NO: 40120156746
Router
MODEL: BILLION BIPAC 7402VGP
IP address of sure signal: 192.168.1.100
Mac Code of sure signal: OC:4c:39:01:ff:cd
I have a strong Broadband connection and have the eathernet connection working, 2 lights on the back of the sure signal, yellow and green.
I really need this fixed this week, as there doesnt seem to be a fast fix, and reading the posts on here those that have got it working, seem only to have the problem fixed after Vodafone have done something their end.
Please could you get this sorted as soon as possible as like alot of people it is needed for work.
Regards
Jason

Hello,
I thought all of these problems were behind me. It took me three weeks over the christmas period to get my SS working. It was fine until yesterday. Now just the steady red power light, and occasionally one white light.
HELP !
ISP: SKY
MODEL: 9361 ALCATEL LUCENT V2
SERIAL NUMBER: 40114636745
I have tried resetting both SS and Sky router (NETGEAR)
Can somebody check and get back to me please, thanks

Hi Guys,
Sorry about the delay in responding to the thread however please find your replies below;
@ BarryMEP, I have taken a look at the Sure Signal and can see that there has been no connection with the server since 13/02/2012 and I can also see that your Sure Signal has been flagged for a re-sync.
So we can look at your issue as the traceroute looks fine I have re-synced your Sure Signal today, please can you try a reset and let me know your external IP address from here so we can check this against the white list for you.
@ Daver1, I can see that your Sure signal still hasn’t connected to the server, as you are now showing a solid power light only it sounds like the profile and activation has been downloaded but there is something blocking the Sure Signal from connecting to our server.
This can either be a port issue or an IP range issue.
So I can check the IP range please can you click on the link above and let me know the external IP that you are currently running.
However if it is a port issue you will need to open these by following the instructions on this post.
@ charlesr, may thanks for the update here, I’m pleased to see that you are up and running. If you have any problems please feel free to give me a shout.
@ Jayt, many thanks for your post here with all of the details that you have provided.
I have taken a look at your Sure Signal and can see that there hasn’t been a connection made between the Sure Signal and the server which is why you are only seeing the solid power light.
So we can identify where the issue lies please can you let me know the following;
Your external IP address,
Have you completed the port forwarding instructions in post 1?
The results of a Traceroute, (instructions below)
VSS Traceroute command
- On a PC :
- Click on Start and select Run
- Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
- A black box will appear.
- In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
- Paste the output of this command into your reply.
@ easygoingchap, I’m pleased to see that this has now been resolved, keep us updated on how you get on.
James
